Ft bstrd,
Recurve shooting is a skill I wish I had! Tried it before but turns out I ain't real good at instinct aiming.
I have a hard enough time with pins, peep sight and kisser button .
You shoot a custom job or one of the name brand models?

I almost bought a Pearson but DaveS couldn't didn't have a left hand model. Everything I have read says they are very nice.

I hadn't shot in 5 or 6 years. My son wanted to go hunting this year so I dug out my OLD Bear and shot a few arrows in the back yard. I made the mistake of shooting the Drenalin when I took him to get a cheap bow. Kind of reminds me of the "mistake" I made, test riding a Buell with "no intention of buying" LOL

Torts,

I haven't shot in years, but when I did, I had a Bear fiberglass/wood recurve. Nothing terribly grand, but I loved it.

I can't shoot a compound. I have tried but it's kind of like flinching when you shoot a rifle. I always flinched or jerked and threw off the aim. Somehow the pull pressure of the recurve steadied my body frame, and I was able to "feel" the correct flight path. The pins to me were like trying to figure out which club to pull from the bag.

I've thought about picking it up again. I'd love to have a nice three piece.

That explains it, I was never good with a bow, but now I can use a crossbow instead (there has to be some up-side
to having a permanently jacked-up leg! Now I can definitely shoot a rifle!

I can also shoot from the seat of a stationary vehicle which is illegal for able bodied hunters in Missouri. So I can
cruise out to a blind on a 4-wheeler kill the engine and I'm ready to hunt.

I heard somewhere, years ago, that a guy on the US Olympic archery team was practicing for the upcoming trials on his property. His front yard had a main road adjoining it and someone driving by took a shot at the guy, apparently as a prank. The archery guy didn't see it that way and unleashed an arrow at the drivers window while he was speeding away. He called the police and reported the incident... and the next day, in city miles away, someone came in with an arrow wound in his left shoulder. He was questioned and arrested when he confessed that he took a shot at the guy as a joke.

That's a good example of instant karma if there ever was one.

Not to mention that dead idiot that tried to steal a bowhunter's car a few years back.

The hunter was coming back to his car after practicing in the woods.
The fool confronted him and said that he had a gun and to hand over the keys.

The cops had to follow his blood trail to recover his body.
