So I'm riding to breakfast the other day. Coming in to a stop sign and start thinking about something else-rather than watching the road for debris. I hear a "pop" as I come to a stop. It kinda sounded like I rode over an open water main cap. I finish the ride to Tom and Joes, maybe another 1/2 mile, but didn't really notice anything different-maybe a little slower in the turns, but nothing drastically noticeable. I finish breakfast and come out to this.
Of course, my father just left on his HD, so I've got to wait for him to get home before calling him to "bring the truck". I get it back to the shop, I don't think I should plug this one...
I've run over stuff in my truck, but I've never ever picked up a bolt this long in any of my tires.
Fortunately, I scored a new Conti Road Attack this past spring from a fellow BadWeB'r. I had around 7k on this tire, so it was due to be replaced anyway. I just wanted to finish it off with a big smoky burnout |

Yikes! That's a huge freakin' bolt! Just be thankful you didn't already have the new tires mounted. |

My thoughts exactly, I almost mounted it the week before... So to all you procrastinators out there +1. I'd join the United Procrastinators of America, but I just haven't found the time... |

You know what they say, "If life gives you lemons, then make lemonade" In this case, screw in some more and go ice racing |

You could probably plug it good enough for the finishing off burnout.......no? |

7K miles on that skin? There's still tread left in the middle! I only got 5600mi out of the stock rear tire. |

Nice catch! I worked at a garage for many years and found all kinds of things stuffed through tires. The most notable have been a house key (fat end went in first!) and a chunk of asphalt (still not sure how that once happened). |

I pulled a telescopic car antenna out of a tire once, its funny pulling 3 feet of metal out of a tire and still going. If i were you, and it didn't loose air too fast, i would of just left it in and done a nice burnout to give the tire a proper funeral |

Had a Umbrella spline go through bottom of tire and exit side wall (car-76 nova). Didn't leak till i pulled it out! Sucked though because I had "borrowed" car from mom (16 years old, learner permit), Busted! and I mean in both the figurative and literal sense. (Ass whompins were still acceptable back then!) |
