Now, THAT is impressive...8.92/155 on batteries. A new world is coming. |

The bike in the video sounds like a slot car. Really cool. |

It can recharge in 5-10 minutes depending on the charger? Wow. Awesome machine. |

It sounds almost as mean as a blender

I doubt it. About 85-90% of our electricity comes from fossil fuels so I doubt that'll be THE solution. That thing carries several hundred pounds of batteries for just a few runs. There's a looong way to go. Those batteries are terribly expensive, too. There's a company selling 'em for cars and sportbikes as a smaller, lighter, more powerful alternative to gel cell and conventional batteries, but at $580 and up, I'll pass! http://www.tekbattery.com/ |

Instead of looking at the weight of the batteries, look at the overall weight of the vehicle, and the performance. They charge it every run to heat the batteries and get absolute best performance per run, but it can take quite a few full power runs on a single charge. I wonder how man y full power runs you can make on an 8 second drag bike pwered by gasoline on a single tank of gas? The efficiency is definitely improving significantly with the newest battery tech. Can you say solar charging? |

I sort of wondering how big a charger it has. Sounds like it might need some kind of mega-Amp fast charger. I wonder how many race tracks have outlet in the pits that will support his charger. And if the "fuel" is "free". Jack |
