This got a bump on advrider and it reminded me, have been meaning to put some more of Lou's fabulous pics up. These are all by Harley's photog - Lou Martin. The coast before Port Douglas Daintree National Park Pub stop - far side of nowhere and Oprah is on the box Didn't these things kick up some dust! Crew. Set my bike up thanks. Into the outback:

You guys really need to start driving on the right side of the road... I mean... I know these are hooligan bikes and all but you're really just asking for trouble. /EDIT - ON Stay off sidewalks too... Don't ask me how I know. Apparently the lawn at the town square isn't a good idea either... They'll throw broom sticks and trash cans at you. Just a friendly warning... Take it or leave it. I agree on the sidewalks . . . I was driving into Manhattan today and saw a yellow XB12 Lightning start to get cut off by a turning truck. . . he went right up on the sidewalk with no hesitation and passed the truck on the right. Great photos and a GREAT story Dave! |

Since being on a boat out of Simpson Harbour - Rabaul with a buncha Kiwis, and too short a time spent in Cairns, I've sworn to make a pilgrimage to New Zealand and Australia. After looking at the images here, it's even closer to happening! I gotta - just GOTTA get on down there in the coming year. (Sunny and me that is) (Message edited by slaughter on August 15, 2007) |

The only objection I'd have would be willingly watching Orca Winfrey. Sorry, there is NOT enough beer in any bar to make that happen for me. |

Sufficient beer plied! I have XM and I CAN'T STAND the Oprah Winfrey "Soul Series" promos. What a self aggrandizing bloat! |

>>Any Buell rentals in the country?....<< Not that I know of. Plenty of Authorised Harley rentals - maybe they would. |

>>Sufficient beer plied! << Nah - that's the idiot grin that accompanies this type of gig. 'You're kidding me.' I had a lemonade and stared down the locals. Also had just seconds before nailed a reasonable stoppie as we pulled up. That makes me grin too. |

Man!! Ya'll got some pretty country down there!!! If I ever get a couple weeks off and that hole in my canoe plugged up, I'm gonna come look at it. I like that dirt road interstate I'd probably die on a bike, but in my truck I'd be SIDEWAYS ALWAYS!!! Oprah nude? I guess every thing's different own there. |

Sure thang. The great Dividing range runs the length of the continent - north to south. Past up here to Melbourne. This is how I recommend crossing it. The instructions were - ride beside the truck - but the truck kept accelerating - didn't it Richard! I'm doing 85mph to catch it up and hit the worst section of the entire dirt right before I did. No pucker moments, breath shortened slightly. Wish I had of tried harder to wheelie it - next time. nothin' behind me. sweep sweeet

>>How did that TT do on snorkeling the water?<< Well, not so good. Ride boss Paul found a bent pin in one of the electrical connectors that failed when it got wet - the one in front of the front pulley - it put the TT on the trailer for 20 miles. In good Aussie bushman style he found fixed it with a paperclip - while we stopped for lunch - but that water crossing did drown the test bike a bit. I reported the issue to Court, who took it to the factory and followed up with quality control to make sure it was a one-off. (Although it looks like it effected both of the TT's.) As reported the Ulys all nailed it. I rode through that water 5 times Looped aroud the bridge - and there were 20? water crossing on the ride - some at high speed - not always on purpose. The TT I tested for Kiwi Rider did a fair bit of 'snorkeling' too - no dramas.
