Hey Bad Weathermen (and ladies)!

Cycle World.com needs photos of custom Buells for an upcoming website feature. It's a great opportunity to show off your customized Buell to the Cycle World community, plus the best bike (judged by our online forum users) gets an item of CW swag! Shipped to your door! What could be better?

If you're interested, please adhere to these simple rules that some of the Hayabusa people didn't seem to get so well:

Please send horizontally-oriented .jpg files that are under 1 meg. No more than 3, please! Please, no nudity (well, you can send them, but I won't put them on the site), obscenity, etc. The bike should be prominent in the frame.

Also send me 1-3 sentences with your name, age, where you live and what you did to the bike. We're interested in customized bikes; a mild paint job and a pipe is not a customized bike! Good spelling and grammar is always appreciated by overworked, underpaid editors.

Please do not send anything after August 24th. Email your photos to getshokin@hfmus.com .

Also, I'm pretty impressed with your forum here. It makes me want to get a Buell. Well, that and being able to wheelie in my driveway.

Thanks! I look forward to seeing your bikes.

I'm with you ,Wayne.I read the words but they mean little. How about a simple explanation in English for those of us that are not magazine editors or photographers. Then I'll go take some more pics of mine.

98s1: the magazines love the 3/4 angle fro the front shot. That's a money shot there. Then the pic of the motor and
the shot from the right rear IMHO.

Btw the bike is looking really good these days!

Slaughter, that's the remains from the infamous track day or race from a while back I presume?

98S1lighting,

Might I make a suggestion:

You have a beautiful bike and you have an eye for photographing it, but remember, you are taking pictures of the background too. The house, flowers, etc. are really distracting in your shots. I would take the bike somewhere with a plain background at about the same time of day (identical lighting), and reshoot them pose for pose. Plain backgrounds can be trees, retaining walls, anything that is not too busy. It will dramatically help your photos.

It is just a suggestion from a guy who has been shooting folks for money for a while.

Fear not Diablo, Wayne and I know each other well. We often trade parts, barbs or bs. Sometimes even over dinner.

All I've seen is just your tail??? That would be an inacurate statement.

"Total Posts: 1 "

It will be interesting to see if he adds to his post count.

Slaughter,
Send that pic in with two others along with a short description describing the "modifications". I'd wager that it will be published in the article.
Reminds me of MikeyP's pic of him sitting on his bike laying on its side that was in ThunderPress.

Hmmmm...

Nearly stock - modifications to make the bike race-legal included safety wiring, chain drive conversion:

Additional modifications included engine punched out to 1169cc, Penske Shock, re-worked forks, Beson Racing Exhaust, full bodywork:

Add turn 8 at Willow Springs.

I'll go work on the wording some...
