Any one know if the frame for a 2000 S3 will accept the body parts from a 2000 M2?

From what I've heard, they use the same frames but the S3 has some additional fittings to support the luggage and frame mounted fairing. Based on that, I'd say "yes" but the reverse may not necessarily be true (you might have difficulty fitting S3 parts on an M2 frame).

The only "body" parts that will fit is a fuel tank (and only if it's pre-1999) and the rear hugger. All the other body parts (tailsection, front fender, fairing, etc) are not compatible.

See, now I definitely remember an article in Battle2Win that stated the 1999 and later Thunderbolts and Cyclones were built off the same frame, but that the X1 Lightning was different. Are you SURE?

I even remember considering trying to mount Thunderbolt saddlebags on my Cyclone, but I would've had to change the tail section in order to do so.

the m2 frame has the front fairing mount, at least all m2s i have seen. i am not sure about the rear subframe though, but i am inclined to believe they are similar.

I have an S3 fairing on my M2 and I have a chance to get a Ventura luggage rack system for an S3. I was asking so I could figue out if the S3 rack system will fit my M2 frame. I know it would not fit perfectly to the body work but I wondered if the brackets for the rack will bolt up to the M2 frame

m2-m3
