I have a White Lightning. Tank blistering pretty bad. Can this be fixed or do I need a new tank? I would like it fixed with the original looking logos and not the raised stick on ones. Any ideas? Thanks. |

I repainted mine after it blistered, thought it looked so good without the decals I left them off.

Wayne, I remember that to have been posted on quite a bit in the past. I bet you'll find something in the KV about it. That or Al Lighton would likely know, he's like a encyclopedia for tubers! And then there's the Old School section too. |

It has to do with the material of the tank. Unfortunately, it's not completely vapor-proof, so the fuel seeps through the material and gets trapped by the paint. This causes the bubbling nearly EVERYBODY has had with the tubers (my Cyclone had the tank replaced once under warranty and it started to happen again just before I traded it in for my XB12Ss). I don't know if anyone has come up with a permanent solution or not. |

I recently repainted a S-1W tank, after all the info that I read here I took some original tank decals to a sign shop and they produced some exact paint-mask so I could paint on the decals. It worked out well,no problems. |
