I liked the area west of Madison. Very low population decent roads and few cops. Good places to go fast. Jose |

I wonder if S&S would mind if we just set up a bunch of tents along their driveway and based a gathering out of there. A couple of Port-a-Johns, a small town nearby for supplies, we'd only be around after sunset when the plant was closed. Call it the Hobo-Homecoming cause we'd all temporarily have no homes. Then if they got tired of us we could go wear out our welcome at the Pingel plant east of there a county or two. Uh, wait, never mind, I don't want to go burning any bridges I may want to cross someday. Forget I said anything. Really. I think I'll wander down past NewGlarus over Christmas or NewYears while I'm off work and have a look around. Isn't that an old Swiss settlement? Maybe I've got distant relatives there. That's a scarey thought, more of people like me in the region. |

New Glarus is an old Swiss Settlement that make money off of that fact. Pretty small. Nice state campgtound up the road (reservations needed for summer weekends i think. Heading west from there is some of the best riding in Wisconsin. Perhaps just a bit shy of the area along the Wisconsin river but with less traffic. Dave |

Where do you guys want to meet? I'm going to a friend's house in Germantown for the game. I definately won't be riding (too many parts taken off the bike for winter modifications). Mennis |

Mennis, The game is at 3p.m. So how about meet for an early lunch about noonish to oneish. I'm very close to 894 and Greenfield avenue in West Allis. Mike is ~20 miles west of me. Depending on how your coming from Lake Geneva, we can meet wherever. Mel's diner is located just off the 894 by-pass on Greenfield if you are coming up that way. (decent burgers and grill) The wife is working on Sunday, so I can do whatever. Jerry Jerry |

I'll see if I can make it, Mel's Diner noon or so, but I'll probably be coming down from the Germantown area since that's where I'll be part of that day. Mel's is on Greenfield? I know it's between 108th (aka: hwy-100) and the I-45 offramp southbound (at least I think there's an offramp there). The extended weather forecast is looking good for the weekend. |

My plans have changed but I can still make it in for lunch. Mel's is fine with me. Let's say 12:00pm. I've been doing some leg work on hotels. I'll bring what I have. Mennis |

Everyone, Count me in on helping out if I can. I don't know about S&S letting people hang out here, but I know everyone here was suprised by the number of Buells that showed up last summer. I think I could use that, and the promise of more, to set up something a little more formal. The folks that came out saw this area. I think they will agree that there are some great roads around here. S&S could at least be a stop on the Non-Homecoming. We are right between LaCrosse, Sauk and places like the House on the rock and Frank Loyd Wright's home. Let me know what you think? PS I am going to be in Milwaukee this weekend. Anything going on? Jeffb: Lets do it! I want to go riding again on those great roads whith gravel in the curves that you can take by aiming at the clean spot the car tires make. Any news on the 3.5 stroke wheels? |

Jerry, How was the "party"? Got the word last night that the local Milwaukee dealers are planning their own local event week near the first part of June. Part of this is driven by the 100th Anniversary lead-in. More details will be released in the next few months as they get things decided. Rick at Hal's should have a spare copy of the calender he printed up covering known local events up to August or so, could be good to have while thinking about the non-Homecoming. I'll go grab mine and make a few extra copies in case I make it to Mel's on Sunday. |
