Don't even read this if you are intending to watch the race this afternoon on Speed TV!

Rossi, Hayden, Capirossi - 1,2,3

Capirossi makes it look like he won a helmet instead of a trophy...

"Capirossi makes it look like he won a helmet instead of a trophy..."

He's demonstrating for the umbrella girls how large his balls are.

We got it live on the BBC!

It's just been announced Channel 4 have secured all the WSB rounds for the rest of the season too. Bravo for terrestrial TV.

Hayden showed what he's really capable of for the first time since Laguna. In fact he looked good putting one back on Rossi for a moment there.

Capirossi seemed to be stuck in third place, almost as if he wasn't trying. Unlike Spain, the Ducati looked menacing there, but not at Quatar. It'll be curious to see what the 'problem' was as the Duc didn't look to have handling \ tyre issues yet it didn't seem as fast as it is usually. That said though, Gibernau was up there on his Duc so maybe Hayden was just on red hot form and Rossi his usual self, otherwise Ducati would have embraced the podium big time.

I'm sorry guys, I didn't even think that the race was shown as a delay on Nascar TV...I sometimes forget that not everyone is up all night watching the rest of the planet on the internet. I thought it was a cool picture...I won't do that again. Next time I'lll just post, "I know who won the race, nanananana..."

the Rossi-Hayden battle 3 or so laps from the end was some GREAT racing.
They were really pushing each other. If Nicky keeps this up He'll be making Rossi work for it this year.

What I'm hoping is that Rossi will make Nicky work for it this year.

Nicky will have to step it up a notch to make that happen. I hope he does.

Yep it was, got to see the race on speed vision at a friend's house !! Got teased a little about being a Buell rider since I was the only one there, like being ask "so how was Daytona for you" !!

There was a really nice Truimph there I liked, grey Daytona Triple something or other !? Too much bike for me though !! : )

I just caught that race. That was a great race!

Next year is going to be really interesting with the 700cc formula. If Rossi can win again this year he will retire the 990cc MotoGP forumla having won every single one of them.

I wonder what they do with all the out take footage from all the cameras. I'd love to watch a lot more of the finger and knee/foot camera footage. What would be really great is to see a PIP of the handwork on the footage of the same bike in full screen.

Qatar is strange, no crowds that I could tell, just the trackworkers and the pit crews. And the guys on bikes of course.

Right you are, 800cc. That was my typo. I read that here, a pretty interesting read on FIM motorcycle racing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_motorcycle_racing

Notice the statement there that the change to the 800cc formula is going to be to Honda's advantage. That writer is of the opinion that Honda's engines will be easily modified to meet the 800cc formula. Just what Honda needs, another advantage...

Here is another link from there on the history of Grand Prix champions:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Grand_Prix_motorcycle_racing_World_Champion s

That provides an excellent summary of who done good over the years. Man, there are some great names there...
