I can't wait. 7 more days until my 2 week adventure starts. My parents and I are riding up to Milwaukee, Wisconsin the first week and then the second we'll be going to the Iron Horse Lodge to ride the NC mountain roads. Deal's Gap here I come.

My parents will be riding their HD's (Wide Glide and Low Rider) and I'll be on the Buell XB9SX. My brother may be joining us. Just have to wait and see if he can get a bike.

Cat,
Deal's gap is cool. Cherohala is less technical, less crowded, and really a little more fun. Our group really enjoyed Hwy 28, though. Let me know if any details will do you any good.
There was an eerie lack of Buells there, though. Glad to see there'll be an addition.

Fire away anything you know Easy rider. I'm open to suggestions on roads and places to go. Though, I still plan to ride the Dragon just for the sticker on the bike.

Compared to our 3 corners per 10 miles oh yeah Frausty. Hey Frausty, how about you make a trip next week?

Dana, sadly, we'll have left that day on our way to the gap.

I enjoyed NC 28 also. Although one blind 25 mph corner had water running across it just past the apex. Speed limit is 55 and traffic was light when I was there.

When you get saddle sore you can swap bikes with your parents. Just plan it so you have the HD on the interstate.

Rubber side down,

Cataract2: Be sure and visit http://www.tailofthedragon.com for Deal's info. They have maps of the Deal's area on-line plus recommendations for other good roads in the area.

Note that 2 motorcyclists were killed at Deal's July 23/24. Be careful, and be aware that law enforcement is likely to be heavy.

Cat do you have a tank bag? Fill it up helps with the wind for the highway on long trips. Also get some foam and cover your passeneger pegs with it. You can lay on the tank bag and throw your shins on the back pegs. Thats what I do for the long hauls. Oh and a $10.00 crampbuster for your throttle helps too. I just got back from deals gap you will love it!!!

I bought Odie's heat shield to help with that and help it does. Monkey Butt went down a lot. I also have Anti Monkey Butt powder which I'll be using. Plus, the 9SX seat is really comfortable.

Been going to that site for some time now, thanks for mentioning it though.

I heard about those crashes. Helps keep me in check I guess.

I got the Buell tank bag for my b-day along with the tail bag that clips into my saddle bags. All set in that area. Not quite understanding what your saying about the passeneger pegs though. Got a pic of this? I also have a throttle assistant and it helps a lot.
