Celebrated my 10 year anniversary with Buell ownership by riding my S-2 yesterday evening.Bought it in july of 1995 from HD Buell of Vallejo.First ride on it in over a year due to the total engine disintergation of my "slightly overstressed" 88" motor last july.New 1250 motor,NHRS heads,Red Shift cams,Baker 6 speed,Buell race pipe,Mikuni carb, very sweet. |

Congrats! Bet you never thought that the S2 would lead you to LSR bikes and all that the Buell community has become! Glad you've got her back on the road! |

88" motor was great,at one point was dynoed at 121 HP.I just sort of exceeded the design parameters of the stock rods when I added the turbo. My fault entirely.Course now I am sitting at work for the next 96 hours and my S-2 sits at home, sigh! Never would have guessed where that decision to buy one bike would lead, all the interesting people and places. My first organized Buell ride was with Salinas Buell.A tiny store in a small CA valley town in 1996.Rode with Erik Buell and a whopping 13 buellers. Then came Reg's first Blue Groove in the Santa Cruz mountains where I met a certain Court Canfield and Ferris Bueller for the first time(of many more to come).Rode cross country twice, visited the factory in 1996,and Ferris and I rode to N. Carolina by way of The Southwest Regional Buell Rally in Taos, New Mexico to meet up with friends on the Blue Ridge Pway. This was my first introduction to Henrik,Jim Bantz Senior and Junior. All who have become great and enduring friends. The American Sportbike Festivals,Old Highway 40 Motorcycle Days,Blue Groove Northwest,SPLASH,The All Calif BRAG ride, all memorable. Then there is Badweb and our CA Buell group at A.S.B.N. with Woz and co. All of which led to the Salt flats.I saw the plan come alive here and volunteered my services that first year.2 years later saw my 130 club runs and it was all down hill from there. It's simply incredible the amount of people I have met from this simple machine,I have friends literally all over the world. So,Thank You,Erik Buell!!! |

FMJ, Congrats! My 10 year anniversary was the day I left East Troy after Homecoming headed for home this year, June 6th. I had turned 100,000 miles on it just before I entered Wisconsin, so leaving on my 10th anniversary of Buell ownership was just one more thing to make the trip (that much more) special. 1313 P.S. Let me know if you are ever headed out to Maxton. |
