Good man. I just logged on to start a Father's Day thread.

My lovely wife decided to do Father's Day on Saturday instead of Sunday because of church activities. I had a good ride out to Modesto Ducati (formerly Modesto Buell and Ducati) with Rex and Woz of American Sport Bike Night. We hung out, took care of business and made a run for some good Mexican food.

When I arrived home my wife and kids took me out to buy a new helmet as my Father's Day gift. I got an Arai Signet series. Expensive, but well worth the price. It's Pearl Black and fits my oval head like a glove.

Happy Father's Day guys!

I hope to go riding later on, if I can find my key.... hmm where did I leave it...

Sad to say I'm kind of bummed today- it's my first father's day without my dad, who died last November.

Damn I miss him...

I've been bummed for the last couple of days regretting I didn't make more of an effort to have a better relationship with my dad, who passed away last May. It helps put things in perspective on whats important, only too late.

I hope someone can use this.

My apoligies... didn't mean to bum noone out. My heartfelt sympathy to the both of you.

I can relate with you Swampy as far as trying to have a better relationship with my father. He makes it pretty darn difficult considering he thinks I'm a worthless bum. Doesn't take into consideration that I have been raising my two kids for almost ten years without a substantial break of any kind. Oh well I'll probably be bummed as well after he passes. Sorry again. Just remember to think about the good times!

Imeazy,

No man, you didn't bum me at all. I hope all the Badweb fathers had a great day. I butted heads with my dad plenty of times, but we loved each other a lot and we got along well for the most part.

When my dad was a kid (back in the 1920's!), his best friend's dad used to deliver the mail on a motorcycle. Evidently there were two different bikes, one was a ~1910 Wagner and the other was a newer Indian with a side car. A few years later, both motorcycles were out of use, and my dad and his friend used to sit on the motorcycles in the barn where they were parked and pretend to ride them for hours at a time.

Daddy was never too keen on me riding but I like to think he and his friend and riding motorcycles somewhere today...

Hey, my father's day outlook just improved drastically. My daughter showed up with a BIG bag- a Buell leather riding jacket! Dang, that's the best father's day present I ever got.

BTW, thanks to U4euh for mentioning the fact that Myrtle Beach HD has a bunch of Buell stuff they're trying to get rid of. My daughter had mentioned yesterday that Lowcountry HD didn't have ANY Buell merchandise, and I told her I heard Myrtle Beach HD had a bunch, and she took the ball and ran with it!

Man am I jelous...
All I got was to do laundry, mow the yard, take out the trash, wash dishes (twice) and cook dinner. Sure sucks to be single at times. Couldn't even take the bike around the block. It's alright though, I knew what I was getting when I woke up this morning. Same thing for the last nine years. Sorry... just needed to vent!

I just wrote a long letter to my son-in-law (he doesn't have a dad)who is in Iraq, with some fatherly advise! Stuff I never got to talk to my dad about and would have liked to have heard. I hopes it helps.

The Big Kid is at his girlfriends, and the Little Kid is hanging out at grandmas at the lake, The daughter is at home hanging out with her friends on the boat, and as long as I'm on the computer, I won't have to do the sex thing with the wife.

"I won't have to do the sex thing with the wife."
And I thought most of us had to work hard for the sex thing!!

Anyway, Happy Fathers Day to all. I did get some time in the saddle. Had a nice run. Weather has been great here in California. Not hot, just perfect.
