On my recent ride to Darlington, I planned on riding through Lynchburg Virginia. I noticed new from watching the tv show Southern Steel, that they (Milwaukee Iron ) was located in Lynchburg, so I looked them up on line, and e-mailed inquiring of tours.
Well, I received a very nice reply from Angela and "The Crew" that basically said come on by. I don't know how many of you are familiar with Milwaukee Iron ( makers of custom sheet metal parts for motorcycles primarily, along with a few custom race replicas and more ) or the show "Southern Steel" ( on Discovery ) featuring Randy ( owner ) Gary ( Engineer ) and Lee (Fabricator ) building custom motorcycles. I just want to pass along that if you ever have the opportunity to visit, or desire to build a custom and need sheet metal, you gotta see these guys. What a great group of people. We met all three of the key players on the TV show, got a tour, given by Randy, met Gary, and talked with Lee for some time. They were very giving of their time, answering questions, giving detailed descriptions of the products, tooling, TV show, and we got to see the bike they just finished building for the last episode for the up coming season. They are a class act, easy going, and just a pleasure to talk with. I bought a tee shirt and they all signed it for me. They also let us take pictures of the bikes, the shop, and posed with us for a few. It was a pleasure to meet them, and I wanted to share that with everyone. If you have seen the show, then you have seen them, They are exactly like that. So if you are in that area, look them up and stop by.

I live in Richmond and have thought about checking them out on occasion when I've been in Lynchburg. I dig their old racer style replica.

I like their shows a lot better. Bunch of "guys", not drama queens.

My first experience with them was with their show stopping classicly painted green "boards bike" replica that was Randy's first bike : ) I have wanted one built like that one for nearly 14 years now : D
