I have had my 2000 Buell Lightening for five months. I snapped one drive belt in half. The second drive belt lost 10 teeth. What is the proper belt play with out a rider. Any Ideas why I keep breaking belts?

It sounds to me like you are runing your belt to tight. I run mine so that I can move it at least 1 inch with no weight on it. Loose is best. You have to remember that your belt will tighten as the suspension compresses.

It will also tighten as it gets hotter from running. Also check your pulleys for nicks or damaged teeth.
