Was wondering what everyone else thinks are good riding songs.

I've found one for those long stretches of road in the country. Guns N Roses - Sweet Child of Mine

Anything by Dick Dale.

In an interesting twist, a song on his last album(archaic term now) was inspired by a friend. Who rides a Buell.

Tres Hombres, ZZ Top. (Any of their first 4 albums would get you a speeding ticket, with an excuse.)

I haven't even attempted to listen to any music while I ride, but for some reason every time I do there seems to be this one song that KEEPS coming up in my head and just won't go away. "Born to be Wild". Guess it's just the rumbling of that V-Twin.

And Dave that's just wrong. : ) The first time I talked to 1313 he told me he had just got back from a Marilyn Manson concert. So are you sure it ain't "Feel Me Up Buttercup" ? : )

Gotta go with the classic "Highway to the Dangerzone" by Kenny Loggins
Personally anything by Aerosmith kicks, though "Voodoo Medicine Man" really gets me moving.

I don't listen to music when I ride. Maybe when I do the 'round the world' I'll hook up the I-pod.

Meanwhile, I absolutely love to listen to music in the car. Any car. First thing i always do when I swop and change cars (frequently sometimes) is fit a CD player.

This is one of the greatest albums ever recorded and I can't imagine anything more suitable for motorcycle listening pleasure..............

RADIOHEAD - OK COMPUTER

I only listen in the car, but I'm with Dan the Dog Doctor--ZZ Top gets me going very nicely, thank you...it's a Texas thang...

Rocket: Do you get XM or Sirius over there in Jolly Old? I got a new truck last year with XM. Last time I ran it through the car wash (probably 6 onths ago) I took the FM antenna off and threw it under the seat, haven't put it back on yet. Hardly ever listen to the CD changer anymore, either. Satellite Radio is great!

Only in the car,

Lynyrd Skynyrd,
Led Zeppelin,
Neil Young,
Eric Clapton,
Peter Gabriel,
Rolling Stones ...

Basically anything from the '70s will do, as long as it is not hiphop, dance, disco, trance, house ... you get the idea.

Holy Crap! Kenny G, the Bee Gees, the Ramones, and 50 cent in one song list! It's a sign of the apocalypse!

Got1- you have some seriously diverse musical tastes...

I was thinking "Sweet Home Alabama" is a great back road song. "Who Do You Love" is another good one.

rt, not sure what Sirius or XM is? Sat radio to my knowledge is broadcast on the backside of sat TV channels over here.

One of the latest trends UK side is DAB (digital audio broadcasting).

My latest and newest toy is this G3 iBook I'm talking to you on now and I can listen to a lot of choice American radio stations, which is great from more than just a listening stand point. You know, technology and all that . Tonights listening choice though, as it's nearly 2 30am, is the UK's Virgin Radio which is pretty good at this time of the day - read, more music than talk and commercials!

Wanna point me toward some classic Cajun radio? Think of the Walter Hill movie 'Southern Comfort' and you'll be about bang on even if it's broadcast in French

Rocket: Check out www.sirius.com or www.xmradio.com. I don't know if those services are available on your side of the pond, but if they are, you'll love 'em. NO, I said, ZERO, ZIP, NADA, NYET advertising on the music channels, and they've got a bazillion of 'em, grouped by genre.

No Cajun radio on the satellites, though. Check out www.cajunradio.org or www.kbon.com pour cela.

Laissez les bon temps roulez, cher!
