Shawn is recovering at home. He is trying to wean himself off of the pain killers so he can drive into work for a few hours here and there. He has to wait one or two more weeks so the skin can grow and heal on his ring finger before they go in for surgery. By the way, he is left handed so he’s got to be going nuts at home by himself. |

Anonymous, I wonder if Shawn has gotten all possible referrals to hand specialists. I have a hand specialist here that I can highly recommend for microsurgery and prostheses. I got to "meet" him after tearing up 2 fingers in a bizarre trailer unloading accident at Willow when the bike tipped over and I caught my hand in the steering damper and MASHED it when I grabbed the handlebars and the steering went to the stop instantly. |

Owwww. I once slammed my fingers in the door of a 89 Thunderbird and like a dumb- PULLED them out of the door... I doubt it hurt as bad as the steering damper though. Thanks for the update. |

How about cut your ring finger off to the first knuckle by getting cut off going through a sprocket on a bike.Lets just say it didn't hurt till I saw what I did.Its sewed back on and works fine but lost most feeling in the end of the finger. |

Thanks for the update. Please let Shawn know we're thinking of him. How about the possibility for a "Get Well" or "Get off your Butt" or "Get off the Drugs" card Henrik ( I can find out about top notch hand surgeons in his area as well. PM me if necessary) |

My hand surgeon did his residency in Brooklyn VA hospital but he pointed me to the American Association of Hand Surgeons - AAHS - Headquartered in Chicago. http://www.handsurgery.org/contact.html I can only assume that as much of a techno-geek as Higbee is, he's probably already crossed their paths. |
