I would say that it is real. The bruising around the hips is very hard to fake. My god that must hurt. I sure hope he lived.

Ooops, forgot the story::

Enclosed is an actual emergency room photo of a man

who lost control of his motorcycle on a country road

in West Virginia. Troopers believe that he was traveling

at a speed of approximately 75 mph at the time of

the accident.

He was unable to negotiate a curve in the road.
Unfortunately for him, upon striking the ditch and
being ejected from the bike, he landed BACK END
first on a fence post from an old barnyard fence
that was downed on the side of the road.

You can probably picture what happened next, but
the attached picture really says it all. The good news

is that after about 6 months, this man made a full
recovery after suffering a shattered hip, broken leg,

several broken ribs, internal injuries, and "soft tissue"

damage. Doctors credited his recovery to the fact

that the post lodged itself so tightly that there was

little or no blood loss. See attached.

I would have to see the source of this story to believe it. That is not even physically possible. I would have either killed him on site or split him two. I say B.S.,pretty good fake photo though.

I would say the story is not accurate. It looks like the log went into his side first then out the "bottom" See how the skin is pulled inward by his side. If it exited there it would be stretched outward.

Snopes sounds pretty credible, look at the remenants of car seat upoholstry (sp?) around the entry point.

So the lesson is clear here, stop driving your cars and get back on your bikes ; )

Black,
Its common with implaement to have little or no blood if the object is still in place. The object acts as an effective block as the edges normally match the wound track pretty well. And truthfully it looks like he is gone, and the poeple as in the process of cleaning up the mess IMHO.

This is why if you get stabbed it's best to keep the object in place because it acts as a good blocking agent to keep you from losing blood,

I had an aquaintence stabbed once and didn't bleed at all...the other guy that was stabbed was bleeding profusely and screaming bloody murder, of course when EMS showed up the was screamer was the guy that got all the treatment and survived.

Moral of the story:

I don't know I just like telling it.

I was with Jack Eaton (Eaton's Men's Clothing - Topeka, KS) the night Kenny Baker took the straight razor to him.

It looked like opening a bass and the innards slid out of the belly button to larnyx opening.

Having been shot and with someone who was knifed, I'd take the shooting anyday.
