My grandpa is one of these fearless guys:
raider
He tells some great stories and will even show you his bullet scar. I'm proud of what he did and I'm happy he's still around to tell the tales.

Amen. You guys may enjoy reading this, a letter from a Marine written just prior to entering Falluja this week.

just received some memorabilia of my grandfathers, who passed on about 15 years ago.

a slightly tattered yearbook from his unit from 1935! as i was the only grandchild to be a marine, i have gotten quite a bit of the marine corps collectibles.

ride fast and aim low

Some dude came by the shop yesterday with all manner of lewd and assinine jokes about the Marines. I had to bite my tounge...otherwise I'm sure I would have lost my job.

Considering past and present sacrifices made especially at this time crap like that is uncalled for.

my great grandfather was a Marine, and i have his gold ring reshaped as a cross, and i wear it on my tags.

Had our ball on last sat, then went out to the bars, still in blues. got some free drinks, and lots of quick "thanks". but, being in a college town, i also got some negative feedback. let most of it roll off my back and tried not to let it affect my night, but rest assured, its out there.

as far as girls go, its a double edged sword. sure, blues get girls attention, but the younger ones get intimidated by it, and the older ones get downright aggressive.
