I知 out at lunchtime on my bike and I知 heading back to work. I知 waiting at a stoplight and another rider pulls up behind me on a sport bike. When the light turns green I pull away at a normal pace like the old silver back gorilla I知 becoming. We are in the left hand lane on a four-lane highway heading out of town and the left lane quickly out pace the right lane of traffic which allows the other rider to pull up next to me in the right lane. Next thing you know he up standing on his foot pegs and bouncing the front end of the bike like some young ape that has something to proof to the silver back gorilla on the Buell. He continues to bounce until he has enough energy in the front forks to (I guess) pull a wheelie. Okay, so I知 not impressed and just keep motoring along on my way back to work enjoying the nice weather and being out at lunch time. So the young ape not getting the response that he must have been looking for does his ape act again and another wheelie. Again the old silver back gorilla in me is not impressed and ignores him until my turn off a mile or so down the highway. I make my turn off on the Buell like an old silver back slipping off into the jungle. |

I would be cracking up. I can just picture this dude bouncing up and down... pretty funny. When someone tries to impress me I pretend I am impressed. Keeps 'em from trying again and possibly hurting themselves. |

heh...I had a similar experince as you describe not to long back. The young monkey kept flaunting the wheelie ability of his R1 (still with dealer plates). He sped up and then signaled to take the offramp, I saw from my vantage that he was very hard on the brakes slowing the bike down quite a bit. Unlike you however, I too took the turnoff approaching hm rapidly from behind. He was taking the corner very wide, almost to the outside edge of the offramp which was rated as a 25mph ramp. I ducked up the inside and rolled right on by him as if he was standing still. The howl of the V-twin yammering at him as a quick peek showed him wide eyed and staring at me...I pulled in to the fuel stop at the top of the offramp, and managed to shut down and climb off before he caught back up. He rolled passed with an amazed look of wonder, tail firmly tucked between his legs... |

"Why are you guys so bent up on being unimpressed? You ride a Buell for chrisakes. A HOOLIGAN bike. " It's monkey acts like this kid was pulling on a four lane highway that can give us a bad image to the public, cause wrecks, which in turn causes my insurance to be higher than it should be, just because of the style of motorcycle I ride. Yah...I'm unimpressed!! |

In the UK (excepting Ireland and Eire), this years insurance was at yet another high because of last years good weather. The extended riding season meant more claims so this years policies reflect that in their price. Bet next years don't go down in price though, even if it has pis5ed down all this summer. Gowindward, buy an SV650. Cheaper to insure, and much more your style Rocket |

It's monkey acts like this kid was pulling on a four lane highway that can give us a bad image to the public Trust me... the image was there LOOOOOONG before he started pulling wheelies. Easy Rider, The Wild One, Grease II (ha ha) Or maybe he just got excited when he saw a woman driving a sportbike? |

Rocket...No an SV is not my style. Go run along to the zoo and have fun with "Raping an ape"! Koz the photo is of my wife, so no it wasn't a woman riding a sportbike that the squid was excited about. Yes..the image is there....so we are rebels |

I guess I would have acted like an ape back. Masturbated and then thrown dung at him. |

I was just wondering if he had those really bright red cheeks like the big monkeys at the zoo do when they are ready to mate? |
