There is a company that makes a Trike now that has a independant rear suspension setup that allows the bike to lean and handle as if it where on two wheels. There is also a company that offers an electric shifter made originally for amputees that still wanted to ride.http://www.kliktronic.co.uk/ Can you legally out an ATV on the road in NC? If so, then get a rolling chassis and have the wiring harness and engine from the XB swapped over.

I just saw my bike...wow! Not bad at all as long as the forks are ok. Needs two foot-pegs, 2 turn signals(actually 1 was taken for a fellow Buellers XB sheeesh!), 2 mirrors, steering bearings, front isolater, front rim, oh and that expensive thing called a frame. But for bragging rights I'd leave the dent in it. Bubba you need some work buddy? I'll let you stay here at the Mt. house, feed you(well Melissa will) and let you park the Thruxton in the Buell Barn.

5 miles and 60 corners...ain't nowhere near as cool as the mountians but it will do.

Ted, Where's your place? Give me some kind of plan and me and the son will drop by there before I take off and say hey and welcome you back to God's country. Good to have you home.

The T-Rex is along the lines I'm thinking, but more naked bike. I wonder what it would take to graft a front end like that on an XB?

I don't know why I was thinking snowmobile, the front end off an ATV would probably be the easiest to adapt. Might need some modification to retain ride height.

Would make an interesting project.

Hey Ted, We're running up 181 to the BRP and then heading towards G-burg tomorrow after church. How close are you? Email on the way.

I'm in Old Fort 25 miles east of Asheville. Not far from the BRP. If you took rte 80 or 226 south off the BRP, then 70 west for 10-15 miles your in Old Fort. 80 is awesome but has a steep grade and switchbacks. 226 is pretty cool also.

No e-mail yet Greg? Get my number from Bubba or try me again. I'll check in AM. I'll actually be going up 226 tomorrow to BRP! In the car, no trike yet. I do have a new wheelchair on the way.: )

Dear Ted,
Glad to hear that you're out and about. Inspiring! On the "new ride" front, there is a guy here in Austin that rides a BMW sidecar setup that is constructed to hold a wheelchair. The controls are on the sidecar so he can just roll in and take off. Wish I had a picture, and I don't know him personally, but if you'd like more info, contact Lone Star BMW/Triumph and ask about him and his bike. He's always up there and at all the local events. Hope this helps...

I've seen a setup for a Goldwing like what M1 was talking about with deployable wheels. So when you slowed down or came to a stop, I dunno if you push a button or what, but down come two wheels. Also those things can carry so much you could probably have a collapsable wheelchair on it behind you that you could just grab and unfold when you come to a stop. Just a thought, and with an electronic shift you should be all set.

Ted, We didn't make it up to the BRP today. We got as far as Morganton and my brand spanking new VROD decided to start blowing fuses. Finally got it back up and just now got home. I hope to get up there soon and see you, meet you, wish you well.

Huge long story behind the blowing fuses.

I went to visit Ted yesterday. We went out and hit the twisties with Ted's All Wheel Drive Buell(aka Subaru). I got to see parts of western North Carolina that I've never seen before. God only knows I've lived in the state all my life.
