Hey all, I am in the garage trying to fix my ride and I am going to remove most of the transmission (except the 5th gear shaft and gear) and i am told(manual) i need to drop the left isolator. Is tgis true? Thanks JM |

Maybe. It's tight but I can generally get mine off and back on again without removing the isolator plate. Seems like a PITA, but the older ones actually needed the frame lifted to get the cover off. Be sure and put the new shifter shaft seal in place after you get the cover back on. |

Yes, I know it's an S2 ... I have one as well. The later bikes have no issue with removing the cover, nor do they have a removable isolator plate. When I say earlier models, I was referring to RS's and RR's. The frame is literally in the way. Good luck ... |

Yup ... 1-3/16 socket, make sure you have it, some sets skip over that size. 1-1/8" on the sprocket shaft (front sprocket), it's right handed. Helps to have an air wrench handy. Also, loctite red on both on reassembly. |
