I recently had the opportunity to take a test ride on a 12R that was 7 miles old on Friday. I'll have to say I was pretty impressed. It was very smooth and was a pleasure to ride. But, it was a WAY too quiet for me and the throttle response was very sluggish. However, once you got her revved up she went pretty good. The guy even let me do a couple wheelies.

I was up there to take my S1 to get looked at because of my transmission problem. We were unloading the bike and the guy says "Hey, we just got 2 new buells in, how about a test ride?" I find it odd that a HD salesman would just offer a 17 year old kid a test ride on a bike like that. He also said that when I come to pick it up I can take out the XB12S . I think there are some good people at the Winona HD Buell dealer.

the dealership here had demo days this weekend and I went and rode a 12R.Unfortunately,I had to ride with a group, still got a couple small wheelies in,and then it started raining....then hailing.(sure glad I took the full face helmet!)My impression was good, even with the limited riding. Not good enough to trade off the X1 yet tho.

Ben,

Are you talking about the dealer in Winona Minnesota? If so, that's where I bought my M2! I haven't been back down there in a long time. The last time was sometime in late summer 2002. I've got to get down there a few times this year. Yeah, it's a pretty nice dealership.

Yes but you and a few others on this board are interested in selling Buells...I can see some salesman trying to sell me a sporty telling me its a better bike. You know that age thing...I am suppossed to be to old for a sportbike, I need to settle into my age and ride a cruiser...(actual line given me by a salesman at Arrowhead HD/Buell)

Ben, John,

i bought mine across the river at Lacrosse area HD, which is owned by the same person, along with waukon hd in Iowa. Lacrosse is a nice dealer too, and the last time i was in there i talked to a salesman that was pretty serious about buells and said he would let me take a 12r for a ride. i would have, but im worried if i do, ill end up buying one.

i always complain about Lacrosse not stocking any buell parts at all, but no dealers seem to. if you are in the area and need anything, make sure you talk to Jason in the parts dept, he knows his , buells too, word on the street is that he is the only reason a lot of the locals buy parts there. Gina is really helpful too, but Jason is more into the buells.

He'd be trying to sell me a case of Geritol. I'm 41, didn't start riding a Buell til I was 36. Best thing that ever happened to me!(motorcycle wise)

Ride to the edge!

Gosh, at 56, I bet your salesman would suggest I sell my X1 and convert my Wide Glide into a Trike.

What a slip of the Tongue. Perhaps you should remind him that Erik is older than you are. LOL
