Wonder what BRAG's Itinerary for the Homecoming is? No sense in jumping the gun. From the little I have spoke with Peggy, she has her act together and I believe she and her team will present a week full of activities for you all. |

Wycked...You are going to love BattleTrax. A local SCCA Autocrosser, got in on the last event of the year up here and absolutely loved it. |

Was he on a 12S Dana? I saw Eddy Kidd jump over a very long bonfire at Santa Pod. It was dark, unlit and raining cats and dogs when Eddy came out on a crosser, inspects the jump and instructs the 'officials' to bring the landing ramp closer to the take off ramp. An hour or so later, still raining cats and dogs, Eddy completely misses the landing ramp - lands about 50 feet beyond it in the muddy wet grass then rode away on the rear wheel. Made it look easy. I also watched in awe, Sammy Miller in Vanishing Point at the Pod on many occasions. I recall him blowing out all the windows in the control tower one time. Rocket |

Hey Rocket I was at Pod the day Sammy Miller did the 1st sub 4second 1/4 in the UK must have been early 80s. ( and people say nostalgia's not what it used to be, I dunno) As for the show I'm with Bubba, women & food in any order but plenty of both!!!! |

Dana I've a tape of Bubba somewhere jumping one of those XR's. Thanks. Innes so was I <grin>! Thanks to American rules forbidding rocket power Sammy gave us Brit's (and at least one French guy) a unique 1/4 mile spectacle that I've not seen the likes of since. The silence as the crowd held their breath whilst Sammy got Vanishing Point cooking. The short burst screeches Vanishing Point made as Sammy put it into stage. The audience reverse countdown before launch. The sheer speed of the thing as it went past you in complete momentary silence. The shock wave that physically moved you immediately followed by the sound wave traveling at supersonic speed hitting your ears. Santa Pod was a regular pilgrimage for myself and friends. Man we've had a ball at that place more times than I can remember. We still talk about it even now, now we're old farts that is I'm chuffed to admit I've raced at the Pod a few times too. Rocket |
