Just needed to write something to get it off my chest. I won't be able to respond since they have blocked badweb from my work now but last night my grandpa passed away. He had fought with prostate cancer 3 seperate times and beat it but it finally took over his body. He use to do hill climbs on nitrous harleys and he always took an interest in my buells because of the harley backround. He saw some of the stuff i did and thought i was nuts and ive seen pictures of some of the stuff he did and i thought he was nuts. After he beat the cancer the first time he went out bought a boat and all kinds of toys to celebrate, the next time he took a nice vacation, after that he told us when he found out about having it again, " i dont care, Ive done everything in my life that i have wanted to do and seen everything ive wanted to see." But he still faught it and was giving it hell for 2 years. I dont need im sorrys or anything like that. I dont talk about my emotions in person and this is just me getting it off my chest. There is nothing to be sorry about, the pain is over and my grandma can start doing her life again. And like he said he did everything he wanted to, and yes he did see pictures of the 1125r that i bought and said that the rotax motor was bad a.. then said i was nuts for riding it. lol. anyways this was just to get it all off my chest i know somebody else on here is going through the same thing with his sister and it feels a little strange to be relieved but i kind of am. No more waiting for the phone call type of thing, ok ill stop rambling .

pegs down today boys, we got a passanger. Taking him up the mountain with me tonight when i get off work. Later guys

Brian

Very nice write-up Brian, your grandad sounds like a cool guy. I know what's it like to dread the phone ringing like that.

Sincere condolences.

People still don't realize that prostate cancer STILL kills a higher percentage of men than breast cancer kills women... it's just that we men don't have a cute postage stamp or a colored ribbon for the Hollywood elite to wear.

Brian,
Pegs are down for your Grandpa (and stay down on my bike for many others). He's got a great deal of our gearhead brethren in Heaven to hang with, he'll have a blast.
God Bless.

Thanks for that. It's good to hear someone with heart who lived the life he wanted.

Most of my life has been like that, with a few issues these past few. It makes me want to refocus.

When you hear him talking while you're riding, you know they're always with us, tell him I said thanks for the attitude adjustment.

Just wanted to say thank you to everybody. Like i said earlier work has me blocked out of badweb and i was just reading all your responses. My mom was on a camping trip in colorado and they had left her a voicemail telling her what had happened so i spent the day trying to beat her from listening to the voicemail. Luckily i did and we had a good lunch the next day together. I found out while she was camping she was able to talk to him up to the last 2 days (he fell into a comma) so she also kind of new what was happening. It was on his demands that she not cancel her camping trip because she had planned it for almost a year (original plans was with him going as well). He didnt want his stuff to interfere with others, he was also the one that insisted a month ago that my mom not see him again because he didnt want her last memories of him all crippled. Alot of people are having a hard time with that, I totally understand because when my dad had lou garregs disease (they were divorced when i was a child) i saw him about a year before he passed and he was in a wheelchair. He progressivly got worse to where he couldnt even comb his own hair and we talked on the phone and he told me the same thing. I was angry at the time but now as i am older i understand because i do remember him from before it all kicked in. So we talked about that since i do understand her feelings about that. I just wanted to say thanks again guys and i am working on getting a picture of one of his hill climbs on a nitrous triumph cresting a hill superman style hanging off the bike, just need a few more days to get stuff settled down. I will post an update too once the obituary is up as well.. Like so many others have said, this site kicks ass, thanks
