Is it just me or has severe acute ride deprivation set in ? The closer we get to Spring, the more I want to run downstairs to the garage, check the gas, oil and air pressure and run a soft towel over the bike to remove the dust.
We're above freezing most of the time now but it has been raining for what seems like a week straight. :(

Spring has never seemed so far away....in the middle of getting 18-24 inches of snow in southern PA. It's gonna be awhile...

It got up to 45 here in omaha a couple days ago, being lazy I didn't want to put my battery back in so I snuck out my dads bagger. That has the biggest mistake ever cause that weekend it snowed 8 inches so now I have the riding bug worse than ever.:(

Aesquire,

Don't feel so bad I was in the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Retailers Shop this past weekend and almost bought a 1999 S3 ($11,500 Canadian Funds) thats still sitting on the floor with no miles on it. Only problem I would have to have it shipped back home. Now that I think about it I was glad the wife was with me.

Phat,

You cursed the weather by taking out the bagger, shame on you. The Buell Gods were angry!!!!!!

Sort of like that ground hog thing, don't you know the bike must stay in the garage till most of the snow is gone.

I know the feeling last week we had a beautiful mild sunny day where the roads dried up. I almost bolted the exhaust, bodywork and battery back on the S1 and took it out but it was late in the afternoon and by the time I did it would have been too late.

Don,

If I could send you my snow and you send me the rain for a couple of weeks I could go for that.

Still cold here and no sign of warming up yet, I'd be happy if the temps went to zero for a while.

Yeah,

Thanks CJM.

Up to about 2 years ago the previous 5 or 6 years to that we never had very much snow and the temps were always above zero celsius. At the time I rode a KLR650 and I did ride that thing all year round but with the amount of snow on the roads this past few years its much too dangerous.

So I was spoiled but these past three years we have just been getting hammered even though I believe the chanting is starting to work, temps are comming up and no new snow (I don't mean light flurries) in almost 3 weeks.

The problem is that I am getting a real itch to ride.

Went away for the weekend, but didn't cover the Blast!, and I don't have a garage. I figured she'd be OK. When I get back, there's 2 feet of snow everywhere! I was going to go for a ride. There was nothing to stop me! It's above freezing, and there's no ice on (most) of the roads. She ran for 2 minutes and died. Apparently there's an ignition problem, likely brought on by moisture. Had to drive one of those damn cage things to work again! Why? Why me? What have I done to deserve this?

First day in what feels like forever the temps were in the 40's. Came home from getting my cars oil changed and noticed that even thought there are 5 foot piles of snow along the roads, most of them are dry...hmmmm... Took the Bolt out for about a 10 mile ride. Got lots of looks! Came back spent an hour washing it to get the salt and grime off. Was it worth it? Oh yeah! Come on spring!

Tonight. Partly cloudy. Slight chance of showers early in the evening then patchy fog after midnight. Lows in the lower 60s. East winds 5 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent

Wish you guys were here. I'm sitting here thinking about going for a short ride and I just have to decide if i'm going to were the jacker or just go in my t-shirt.

Sorry for the misfortune.

Winter in Seattle is cold too. I tried to ride 100 miles today but only made 80. Maybe I'm just not tough enough. Honestly, a windshield on the XB9S would be a nice accessory.

In the last 2-3 weeks we've had about 25 inches of the white stuff. I finally dragged my kdx-200 (new to me) up to a lake for some ice riding.

Conditions were not ideal as some haevy rains, followed by heavy snow left some large soft spots on the surface. We cleaned doff what we could and made the best of it, had a real good time too. Those "cold cutter" tire screws really cut into the ice; if'n the bike started to slide hit the gas hard and the screws would catch it and stand the bike up. I thought I was doing good untill some local flat trackers started putting in some quick laps, I just gave em room to pass....

Of course all real racers fell soaking themselves, I was able to get some real good slides in, pushed my envelope a little and still stay up and dry.

Not perfect but I was riding !!!

Here's the deal.

Three days in the stands at DIS watching XB9Rs and S's thrash Ducatis makes me forget ALL the cold weather here in CHI. Bring me some bean oil.

Check a chromosome or two, head on down next week and I'll explain just how this works, grandstands at the exit from the infield/int'l horseshoe leading on to the first banking. Nirvana.
