No scrapes or bruises, but I didn't break any land speed records either. I learned a lot though, and thats what it was all about for me.

I had on a new set of Diablo Stradas, and they did a great job. Finally got down to the pitch forks on the sidewall. Hanging off the Uly is really tough for me, I know other guys have no problem, I just can't seem to get my knee down. I will be working on that in the future.

I was able to carry a lot more speed through the corners than all the other guys in my class though. Go Buell! It helps a lot when you have other Buellers there to give you advice. Thanks guys!

Tons of fun. Can't wait to do it again. If you haven't yet, sign up for one, you'll have a lot of fun.

Go man go!! Good on ya for gittinerduuun.

I'd love to go back to Barber with my bike- got to ride the 1125R's after their intro there, but it wasn't a "let ya run free" kinda event. More like a high- stakes game of "follow the leader" with track instructors leading and sweeping.

Hanging off the Uly is really tough for me, I know other guys have no problem, I just can't seem to get my knee down. I will be working on that in the future.

One of the things that helped me was moving my feet outboard on the pegs. Because the peg to seat distance is so long, it's tough to get your hips and legs rotated enough to get your hips moved off the bike. There are unfortunately precious few pegs that will allow you to raise the peg height.

The problem is that the farther out on the Uly peg you go, the less comfort you have with the traction of the pegs. I used a Dremmel to cut traction grooves into the pegs.

The rest of it is just trusting your bike.

I'm running these...

They are about 3/4" higher than stock, and traction, well, traction is not a problem. Maybe I'm just a wuss.

They are not quite as long, and I was worried about the treads being too "aggressive".

I was talking to my buddy this morning. He's a 71 year old former road racer. Tons of trophies in his shop. He told me the problem is just above the seat. No balls!
