from what i understand ceramic coatings are being used on all sorts of engine parts and actual heads and cylinders are being produced from ceramic and silicone parts, maybe this is the next step in buell engine innovation, a ceramic v-twin!

Neat idea (and I think it's been discussed before). I'm sure people who are more knowledgable than me will check in soon, but a big potential problem I see with a Buell/ceramic fit is that Buell uses the engine as a stressed memeber. I'm pretty sure that would be one of the limitations of a ceramic engine. It wouldn't be able to serve as a structural member.

I'd love to see them wow us with some new engine technology, but I think it's more realistic to hope for a new valve system that would allow 12,000 rpm than a ceramic engine.

Fun to kick around though!
