Know how we always are down on the dealers for never having parts? Well I went to change the oil in my new KLR-650 today and I called the dealer I go it from YESTERDAY for all the stuff to do the job...all but the Oil Filter Cover O-ring. Sound like a song you've heard before? I order a few, just in case. I can say I've never been let down by a Buell dealer on anything need to do a oil change.

OH Why the oil change at 100 miles? well you should have seen all the little bits of metal when I did my Buell at 100! So I just had to see if a Kawasaki was THAT much better...nope just as much crap in the filter as a Buell!

BTW I've hated the filter on my Buell for being a pain to get at, NO MORE, the KLR filter is a internal jobber and man what a mess to pull out OIL ALL OVER THE PLACE! Took longer to clean up than change.

The guy I work with is still (waiting 2 weeks so far) for fork seals for his Gsxr. He cant even ride it they are so blown. He gets oil all over his tire. There is 18K on the bike. The worst part is he just got it out of the shop for a broken timing chain tensioner. That also took a while to get in. He has been broken waiting for parts more than he has been riding. He was just telling me today so much for jap bikes being more reliable. Ive riden mine to work every day since the snow left and I have 19K on mine. BTW I still have not done my fork seals... I should get on that soon.

Just for the record:
98 S3-T - 60,000 miles
00 M2 - 55,000 miles
06 XB12X - 34,000 miles
08 XB12XT 21,000 miles
I've never had to replace a fork seal. Don't fix it if it isn't broke.

I am surprised I haven't blown a fork seal with the hundreds of wheelies and thousands of miles without fork guards. Yet I can lose a left side scoop.
