In Eastern New York state, US Route 20 and NY State Rt. 22 come together for a short way in New Lebanon. There's a little strip mall on the west side of the road called Tilden Place. In there is a small restaurant called the Hitchin' Post Cafe. They make one of the best burgers anywhere. Now Saturday, there'a a 40% chance of showers. If you're not afraid to ride in the rain, and you love a good burger (their other menu items are really good, too) you're welcome to join Terri and me for lunch. We'll be there at noon. |

I can walk there, I am in. Also, Danbury HD is doing HD demos and BBQ this weekend, so perhaps you could drop by on your way home and raid the grill too |

Also, looks like this place is a bit more north that I thought! |

There is a franchise here called 'Burger Wisconsin'. That recipe made with 'pure NZ' ingredients. Man. |

Yeah froggy, I was going to say your going to walk there? Damn, better start now . I mean I have a chance of walking there at 45 miles from my place.... I can't make it due to prior obligations, But if you go. Continue on 22 north till you come to RT2 in peterburgh, then head east on Rt 2 through the Taconic Trail into MA. It is a really nice road. One of our loops goes down Rt 2 into MA, then North on MA7 out of willamstown, up to RT 9 In vermont, back to RT 7 In NY and then stop at the Man Of Kent on Rt 7 for some food. |

Doon; that's the way we'll be coming out. We live just off Rt.2 in Central Mass. RT.2 to NY Rt.22. For the ride home, we take Rt.20 into Pittsfield, then pick up Rt.8 to Rt.116 which is a really sweet road. Froggy; they're open seven days a week. I've never gotten a bad (or even a mediocre) meal there in over fifteen years of eating there. |

Crusty if you take RT 2 West Till ends on RT 7, then go about 6 miles you will wind up at my house. One of my wife and I's fav routes PK (Pre Kids). was NY7 To VT9 to Brattleboro, stop for falafel, then down into MA, over Through pioneer Valley and back over Rt 2, turn around and come back through the twisties, then go down to Great Barrington, hook back into NY on 23, Stop in Hudson @ Mexican Radio, then take the long way back through the hilltowns outside of Albany... |

Might be picking up a KLR250 for the missus on Saturday. If not we'll try to make it. I loves me some burgers. |

Froggy; I ate there a few weeks ago; after the burger run to PA, but before Homecoming. I'll give them a call tomorrow and make sure they're still open. It would really suck if they went out of business. Really Good burgers are hard to find. |

MMMMMMM... I miss riding to places I've never been for lunch in NY, Conn, NJ, Mass... I especially like doing 3 states BEFORE lunch, and ending up back in NYS in time to eat... |

A word of warning to anyone who might be coming up the Taconic Parkway. Sheriffs like to hide under bridges just over the crest of a hill. And they are happy to write you up for going 75 in a 55 zone. Even if you were trying to outrun a thunderstorm that caught up to you while he was running your license. |

I've lost count of how many performance awards I have gotten on the Taconic. Weaseled my way out of a 130 in 55 once! |

You're not kidding about the police on the Taconic. I was almost shot by a crazed female Trooper out there. It would be a nice road if you could do 80 on it. |

Boy, the Taconic... I've seen it happen to too many others - I just set the wrist at 60 and enjoy the scenery. Anything more than that and you're attracting attention to yourself. Bott - I remember the joints being bad a few years ago, but they're repaved a lot of it, at least on the Northern half. |

White castle is awesome. On a side note, I might not make it to the burger place, I will be checking out/possibly purchasing the Blast on Saturday morning. I will show up if I can, but it seems doubtful to make it up there by noon. |

The latest forecast here said that Saturday would be nice during the day with rain moving in during the evening at the earliest. Hell, even if it's pouring out, the food will be good. Froggy; I hope you get the Blast early enough that you can make it. I know you love a good burger. Steve; there's no shame in riding a Concours. That fairing would be very welcome on a raw, rainy day. |
