Aggggrrrrhhh

Inaggadavida...

I don't think I have the chemicals available that would be required to sit and listen to the whole piece.

Used to play it on Saturday nights in the background at a party a few times in Summer.

Back then a "long song" took up a whole side of the LP.

I saw the Iron Butterfly as the lead-in band for the Turtles at the Whiskey a GoGo on Sunset in 1966. They didn't play Ina godda Da Vito that night.

You make a good point . . . . I was sitting here last night with Led Zeppelin (Heartbreaker) cranked up and . . . . well, at the time it sounded like a good idea.

I got over it by tossing on the Kingsman LP with Louie, Louie.

I'm better now.

I have to origional version of In-a-godda-da-vida in my MP3 player and love that piece of music.

I was such a goody two shoes growing up. My favorite group was Richard and Karen Carpenter. Wouldn't listen to any of that hard rock.

When my son started collecting music I listened to make sure it was ok for him to hear and he found all these wonderful bands. Turns out he's listening to "classic" rock and roll. I wasn't ready then but now I love Lynrd Skynrd, Grand Funk Rail Road and even ZZ Top. Guess I wasn't ready for it until now. What can I say, I'm a late bloomer...lol

I have heard the opinion that Janis Joplin couldn't make it today because she isn't, let's say, pretty. Makes some sense, how many girl singers these days are in the Janis category?

Well I guess that about sums up the pretty girls' talent, huh?

It took me 99 cents to figure that out today.

Modern/live chick to match Janis Joplin?

Check out Micol Davis, Blue Mother Tupelo. Good folks, good friends, electrified folk blues.

Susan Tedeschi (and Derek Trucks.)

Ana Popovic!!! "Still Making History". Just put it on the hifi. She is a Jugoslavian guitar savant who's HAAWWWWTTTT to look at, but even beter to listen to. Seriously. Watched her walk on stage, enjoyed that, but my jaw dropped when I watched her play and sing. Her first band was "Hush". www.pgp-rts.co.yu

Can't remember her name, but the girl from Cape Fear has a band, saw it on late nite. Didn't suck.

I was reading the iTunes reviews written by folks who had to buy the album to get the long version only to find out they'd been hosed.

I only have it on vinyl and I have no way of getting it into a quality digital format, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing at this point.

The 3-minute version is pretty lame - the full version has a wildly different demeanor to it.
