I am using a Handy wheel vice since it didn't have one a the time of purchase.... As you can see it doubles as a work bench..

There's a Northern store up near me in Menomonee Falls fairly close to one of the freeways and not far from the Pilgrim Road H-D plant. There just might be a way to make this happen on the 8th iffn' ya wants to. Maybe I'll sneak down there at lunch or after work (more likely) and see what they have in stock. I could maybe slip it into the back of the Cherokee and bring it to Uke's. I could tie a rope onto it and drag it behind the S2 but somehow I don't think that would be the best idea.

event the first -- we get word from a dispensor or higher learning what kinda fiscal aid my daughter's gonna get (if it's good news, wooo hoo! . . . if bad, I'll be buying a series of nickel plated .25 calibre . . .. er, never mind)

event the second -- christmas

course, a trip to Menomoneomeomy Falls in January would be great! I'll buy ya a beer (hot toddy, glug, or decaf slim esspresso)

There's a Starbucks right up the road, not my first choice but one barrister there has her pull down fairly well on the vanilla cap. ;)

I somehow equated it to lawyers and the jobs they held while attending law school.

Espresso: turning 5 cents worth of beans into a $3.50 cup of coffee that most people can't stand the taste of.

Lawyer: turning 5 cents worth of words into a $350.00 fee that most people can't stand the sight or sound of.

I wonder what would be less expensive, and which would provide for a better residual lifetime income: getting a law degree or opening up a Starbucks, or more practically one of those little coffee push carts one sees in some cities?

I've been looking at all the bike lifts available that I could find, and eventually decided to try the EzyRizer. At the moment I have a confined working area, so the size is a plus. I thought that the lack of a worktable underneath would bother me, but I've been working with it the last few hours and find it's not a problem at all. In fact, not having the table there makes it easier to work on the bike.
Sure beats rolling around on the floor......

Peter thanks for the info. It is what I imagined as ideal and kept a look out for since a long time. Can you lower the bike by hand? My good old power drill turns only one way.

No. It doesn't run in any lubrication. The bearings are greased, same as in a car. It happened because I jumped a speedhump and left the gas on to keep the front wheel in the air until the next one.... works OK on dirt where the wheel can slip when it lands, but on tar puts a big shock through the drivetrain. This is the weakest point.
I happened before about three years ago only a few hundred metres from this one
I gotta learn, grow up and stop showing off in the Red Light District on the way to work.....

Bald One . . .the condor folks were at the Bike show last year in Chicago (Sycamore's just down the road) . . . . .good looking products, well thought out, but a bit pricey . . . .they corraled my wife and me, promising eternal sunshine and fresh pavement , and really seemed to want to demo their stuff . . . . when I observed that the reason I wanted a lift was to get the bike off the ground by 20 or 30 inches, they looked a bit hurt . . . .. ah well . . ..

They are nicely built units but I share the same feelings. As old as I'm getting, I need to bring the work up to me. My Handy air lift with a couple of Pit Bull stands works good for me. If they weren't so pricey, I'd have one without the casters mounted on the Handy.

I have it configured now (I made some different mounting brackets) so that I can remove the whole engine if I wish. With their system, you can take the engine down as far as the cases. If you use the wheel mounting method, you need the cases to hold the rear suspension in place. If you use their shock mount system, again you still need the cases for the suspension. I made some brackets that mount to the footpeg mounts (I have rearsets on it now) so the engine and rear suspension can now come apart as well.
In the photo above I hadn't made the brackets yet.

I bought the same lift myself. Haven't played with it much since I've been working out-of-state. When I did try, I wasn't able to use the "wheel mounted" system. Seems the square tube that's welded to the wheel U-bend holders are a touch out of square. Never could get them on the tires. Didn't have time to tweak them yet.

I'd like to see some close-up images of the mounts you made (by themselves and on the lift) via e-mail or here. Also close-ups of the kick-stand mount and how it works for you (didn't seem to work well for me). If you e-mail them to me, send as many as you want. Would love to see some detail.

Just took some pics of it assembled as it's being used at the moment. I didn't order the Buell set as I knew it wouldn't fit with my suspension. I bought one of the universal kits with the BMW brackets. One of those brackets bolted directly to the main stand bracket, and screwed directly to one of the two large bolts in the primary cover, is enough when the wheel supports are used. The wheel supports fitted fine for me.
