These retail for $159.95...The bid is currently as of 6:30 PM with 40 minutes to go up to $157.50 with $12.00 shipping charge...With tax this poor guy can get them at the dealer for about the same price if not cheaper...I was looking at getting these but damn I'm not that stupid to buy it off ebay for more than i can get them at a dealer!!!

Yep, lots of people are that stupid.

Usually I see it with older tuber accessories that are discontinued. People don't take the time to call a dealer and have the parts stock checked. A few weeks ago a set of axle covers sold for $160 when you can get them at a dealer for around $40.

I'm in the wrong business..

If you know the price of the things you are watching you are definately in the minority. I have seen things go way way over their BFN price on E-bay. As the old saying goes..."an ass for every seat".

They're xenophobes too, "no overseas bidding thank you", nice of them to thank me though.

A lot of people get wrapped up in the "ebay process"

I know I did, I lost 7 auctions this week for the same item. Today I gave up and got it, at a 20% premium (over used prices).

Such is the life of frustration.

People are also stupid in the opposite sense too. Which worked out fortunate for me.

A guy on ebay had a pair of 1979 Z28 camaro fender louvers for sale $16 for the pair!

They don't make the part anymore, not even an chinies aftermarket. Can't find them in the junk yard. And they use to sell for $50 a peice. So ended up with a pair for $16, Kick A**.

Anyway my point is it is nice when someone is selling something when they don't really realize what they have. But yes, people in general are just stupid, and gullable.

When I was buying the stuff for my Ulysses tail on ebay a few months back, half the crap I missed out on went for more than new retail. Glad I lost out on those auctions.

Well if you do research and wait till the last second to bid here's what you get for half price shipped to the door and brand new too. I knew i would get a set just needed patience.

The link is not working because the auction ended but i got a set of the buell saddlebags for $87 shipped to my door. That is half price, as compared to going to the dealer with taxes added in.

So do you think $5500 was a good or bad price for a set of bodywork?
