There is something that bothers me here in the states and I am curious if it exists the same way across the pond. Here it seems people have a morbid curiosity with death. We have open casket funerals for people to see the corpse and have "closure". I have never understood this and I'm curious if it is strictly a USA phenomenon or does it occur across the world?

Some parts of NZ culture it is a custom too.
I haven't seen it in Australia.

"People have a morbid curiosity with death"

What other type of curiosity were you expecting?
