On my walk tonight I headed past the Downtown HD retail shop.

It seems they are having a major "moving" sale. Funny thing I don't think they are moving, but folding.

That sux.
I bought an Ultra from them back in '97 and they were great to deal with.

I wonder how much they want for the neon H-D Motor Cycles sign in the window, I'd like to have something like that for my garage.

I'm out of touch with the Seattle area dealerships, is Downtown affiliated with any other shops in the area, or is this their only location? Is it a stand alone building or a leased downtown office/retail space? It could be they are relocating to a less expensive retail space someplace.

I'm thinking of heading out there sometime this coming summer (if summer ever gets here) and Downtown H-D/Buell was one of the places I wanted to visit. Looks like I might have to hurry.

Probably closing the Seattle store.

The dealers main store in Tukwilla will be moving to Bob Lamfhere's (new owner) new location in Renton soon.

I hope their Buell/V-Rod tech (Kevin) stays with them so I can continue to go to them to have Kevin do my warranty work.

He is the only person I want working on my bike..... besides me........

This is DHD downtown retail (clothing/crap) store.

As mentioned DHD bike dealership is currently in Tukwila (10 minutes from downtown, right off I-5), but they are moving to Renton's RMC. They are building a separate dealer in RMC's lot.
If you head this way, stop at RMC just to see the spectacle. They are not the most personable dealer in the world, but they are the size of a Costco store.
Here is a photo that shows only part of the dealer complex

Hey Mikej -
Let me know if you come out this way. I'll show you around the south end of the area. There are a couple other Buell dealers around here. The Puyallup Destination store pushes Buells pretty good. They can't seem to keep them in stock. Which is funny, because their other store can't seem to give them away. Anyway, I'll show you a couple of my favorite lesser known roads, and maybe you can show me how to ride 'em!

Tim,
All my favorite roads from when I was growing up out there are now subdivisions and not anywhere near as fun as they were back in the 70's. This visit will be in a rental car if we make it out there. Plus the last time I had my bike out there I got rear ended by a pickup truck and had to leave the bike behind so I don't think you'd want to be following me.

Jamie,
That CostCo sized dealership looks like it has a drag strip down the middle of it. Are they building a new separate building along the lines of the MoCo recommended building format? If so then it might clash with the warehouse format of that megaplex dealership. ; )

I can just see a Tuesday night bike night gathering, H.O.G. members out in front of the H-D store, sportbike riders out in front of the megaplex store, and Buell owners zipping back and forth getting along just fine with both groups. I have no idea where the scooter and moped people would be hanging out.

I haven't been by RMC for a few months but at the time the new HD building looked like a cinderblock shack.

Almost prison like. I don't know if they are following any guidelines from HD.

RMC for years had a bike night. They have a bar/restaurant on site that got a lot of traffic. Of course things started to get out of hand. People were stunting in the lot, and a bystander got hurt.

It put a real damper on things.
