That's funny. It's interesting to see the video. The stuntman lands on his side and proceeds to slide. He is not on the inflated parts until he is almost stopped. My opinion is that kind of money would be better spent on good leathers with armor and training to develop and improve riding skills. |

I took a look at the airvest site, from the link above, and it pissed me off. Kind of an odd response, but don't think they really give a damn about our safety. In the background on their home page they have a guy in a teeshirt/helmet/and their product on a sportbike, looks pretty safe to me! I seriously doubt the guy who crashes in their video recieved any benefit from their product in his crash and I also doubt he was doing 70MPH as they claim. I can see this type of technology being of some use, but not in his application. |

I think that vest will be of great use and definatly help in guarenteeing your safety should you crash into water. Aside from that, dog poop. bighairyralph |

If any one i knew were to wear that, it would get inflated with in the first 5 miles of riding. I would pull up next to him and pull the cord. I agree with XB9er, You can get a decent set of leathers for that price. (the key word here is decent) |

Decent leather sure beats a useless airbag. |

Ralph I thought about that. I really should invest in one seeing I do a lot of riding on coast roads. Maybe I can get a vest and set a ramp off the island and try to jump across the Straight of Bell Isle near the north tip of the island. If I don't make the 15 or so miles I can always inflate and float back. I guess if you got off the bike without disconnecting the lanyard your really screwed. You would be going around like a giant marshmallow. |

I hate to say this, but it could very well be "coming soon to a Harley near you". A couple of years ago H-D was advertising for an air-bag engineer. |

The AMA site had a write up on this several months ago. I had quite a bit to say in the talk back section. How many of us want to bounce around uncontrollably, possibly into an imoveable object like a telephone pole or oncomming traffic. Being totally unrestricted to allow us to control our own fall is the only way to go. The last thing we want is for the goverment mandating the wearing of such a thing. Shoot it down while we can. BTW, anyone notice the oral inflation valve? hehe |

Thats hilarious, like you got time to get your lips around that while flying through the air. Oral inflation device, hehehe. Comments gonna fly with that one. Hang on thats and idea, fill the damm thing with HOT AIR then in the event of being thrown off the bike you can float safely up into the air. |

Maybe they should use helium cartridges then. Hydrogen would still be more fun, but... Yeah that oral inflation device can be my excuse when someone makes a comment on the desk muscle I'll be developing while healing up since I can't work out for a while. |

This has been the funniest topic I've read here for a while !! I especially liked the "giant marshmallow" comment and the "If any one i knew were to wear that, it would get inflated with in the first 5 miles of riding. I would pull up next to him and pull the cord" comments !!! You guys are so hilarious, I can't even take the subject seriously anymore !! CJM |

Spidey, You really shouldn't give people those kind of ideas. I guess that could be instant inflated gratification.

Spidy, You know how on a cold day how you can make a hollow fist and blow into you hand to get it warmed up. It might also beat carrying around a blowup doll. |

Who needs an "Air Butt"? If you unload from the bike in the real world, you'll also unload from the real bowels in less than a quarter second. Time to buy stock in CO2 cartridge companies. Can you see all the "Dweebs" stopping for a cup of coffee, stepping off their scooter and sounding like a set of air brakes. They'll be buying the cartridges hand over fist!
