XR1200's in the U.S.
Not bad...for a Harley. One of the techs commented that it had "XB9-like" power delivery, and everybody hated the look of the oil cooler. I like the factory rocker box external oil drains (it also has external feed lines, too), and am surprised that wasn't used on Buells first. Sorry for the quality...I only had my trusty old crappy phone on hand. It was sold that day. |

I visited the Kansas City assembly plant back in Sept and XR1200 production was in full-swing. Probably saw at least a dozen of them in some stage of assembly. Every single XR1200 on the planet has been in the U.S. at one point or another... |

Definitely not bursting my bubble; I have little interest in H-D, the XR1200, or that dealership. I was going by what I was told by the employees, hence the "supposedly." |

But to be perfectly honest, the one shown above IS obviously a European VIN#. As verified by an HD engineer buddy of mine who was attending the bike show with me. |

Where are they made? They are made in Kansas City, MO, USA - I've seen it with my own eyes. |

So to be one of the first it had to be there before it was made - must have been ridden by Schrodinger's cat. :-) |

Well, I'm sure the one I had pics of was the 1st titled by a private party in the USA. I like the bike, can't wait to ride one this summer. |

Mine arrived at the dealer on Wednesday, last week. They are storing it for me until spring. It looks much nicer in person than any of the photos. Sounds better than any Buell but my S2 Bonneville bike. Seating position is about right for bigger riders. Oil cooler looks like it gets in the way but I've been assured that it is pretty survivable in a low speed crash. |

Been to the "Worlds Largest" Harley-Davidson dealership several times over the last few months to see one. "See one?" The "salesmen" I spoke to didn't even know about it. Do'h. BTW, don't waste your time going there for Buell parts, even little every day items, shift rubbers, turn signals/parts, tail light lens, ect. These items fit every XB in all years and not 1 in stock. Double Do'h! Could they interest you in a new 2007 Super TT? Maybe one of about 30 new 2008 1125Rs? |

Was at a store in Ft. Lauderdale (I think).. BumbleBuell standing next to me had only one comment.. "What is that ugly thing?" Unfortunately, when asked about Buells, we were told 'Not a problem, they would have one brought in if we wanted to buy one from them.' .. Yeah, give them the money, they will buy it from another dealer, then sell it to you.. such a deal for you, huh? Ok, I'm out an about again with the wife.. enjoyin' some vacation time. |

"Where are they made?" Motor in Milwaukee Bike assembled in KC I rode one the first weekend in October. Rides alot lighter than 500 lbs. Power is very good, I think it'll surprise alot of folks. |

I only got about 45 minutes of saddle time, hardly enough to get used to it, but it ran smoother than my XB9. Just like any HD, the seat is a must to be upgraded and it needs more noise. One thing I noticed is that the rear shocks are almost identical to my VR Street Rod. Which makes sense because this bike isn't a "low" like your standard Sportster. |

I finally saw one up close and personal. It is great to see the sport back in Sportster. I really liked the look of the bike. |
