Christ. NOT ano6ther 'heated gear' thread.
Just wear good gloves, leave the heated gear in the closet with your skirts, ladies.

That was about the temp here in PA when I left for work this morning. Heated grips are great, hands are not cold after 25 miles.

Finally got my heated gear all working, the connectors got corroded from not using it or something. Been toughing it out fine, but its a night and day difference, I can ride 4x longer without thinking about it.

Try the heated, fully-faired motorcycles with the circular handlebar and foot-throttle, with the extra pair of wheel on the right side

took an 8-year-old on his first mc ride this saturday, with a high of about 36. We were out for an hour and he loved every minute of it, although my hands got cold. I was ready to give up and go in, but he dug it so much I kept riding. Pretty soon I realized I was digging it too.

Best part was stopping at the Yammie dealer for a soda. Kid takes off his new, black full-face helmet and this guy looks at him and says with disbelief "did you ride in here in the cold?"

He says' "well, yeah!" like 'you mean you didn't?'

Had a great time. Reminded me why I ride all year, when I don't wimp out.

Crusty-
I ride year-round in NY, always have when I've been here.....and not as a photo-op oddity, but, rather, as a daily necessity.

It's highly likely that I've done more snow and ice motorcycling than any other on this board.
For many ski seasons that I spent stateside, I commuted EVERY morning, snow, ice, sub-zero temps, to my ski school directing job some 30 miles away, in my snowboarding gear (save for Danner "Go Devils"), with few complaints and no heated gear.

best part? Speaking with members of my staff, when they arrived late, with their cars, (usually from fewer than 3 miles away) complaining about "bad Roads".

I needed only point to my S2 in the parking lot, up against the trailside fence, to ensure severaly curtailed future tardiness.

Is having heated gear really that different than having snowboarding gear? Either way, you're finding a way to defeat the elements. It it keeps your mind clearer while on two wheels, go for it!

I put heated grips on mine after I sanded one of my grips with asphalt. Definitely made the ride nicer, though for me it's not a game-changer.
