318ci, Edelbrock performer intake, Holley 650 4bbl, Hedman Hedders, dual pipes with cherry-bombs. Running a good old Torqflite 727, with a 3.23 rear end. Bastard noisy though. |

Amen. BTW- How is it that Chrysler, the company that built indestructible Torqueflites for ~40 years, seemed to forget everything they knew about automatic transmission design in the 1980's? Everybody I knew with a Chrysler mini-van had the transmission detonate by 80k miles. I guess all the old engineers retired. |

I got a 65 newport with a 383 and a full tank lasts forever. I'm too lazy to do the math but I know it's better than alot of new stuff. |

I've got a '70 GMC 3/4 ton. It's not too good on gas, but it's the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I bet it's still on the road long after our '01 Tahoe is in the wrecking yard. |

I love the way everybody looks round, when they hear that V8 rumble. When you stomp it, it's got a real crackle to it too, fun in town, with the window down, hearing it reverberate off the buildings. Gave it a bootfull away from my regular bar a couple of weeks back, just a little show for my mates on the sidewalk. Apparently a guy on the other side of the street dropped his coffee cup. Only problem was that it was off a 5th storey balcony, & it shrapnelled his own car, oops. |

My 86 Dodge van has been and is the foundation of My doing bike bussiness for 4 years, some 170,000 miles. The 318 is a champ, 15-17 MPG day in day out, but loaded, mabe 12. Jumped in it a year and a half ago and drove to North Carolina from So. Cal. nonstop, loaded, pulling a utility with My Cyclone, Great. |

My dad had a black version of that exact truck when I was a little kid. Doesn't it have a wicker head-liner? I still remember the gas sloshing in the tank behind the seat. What a great old truck. Bill |
