Heard this on the radio this morning. Lanes & ramps of 75 are shut down this morning because they are bringing home the remains of a Vietnam Vet who was shot down in 1968. He was declared legally dead in 1975. His mother’s dying wish was that if his remains were ever found that he be buried next to her at their family grave plot –not at Arlington. His remains arrived at the airport this morning, and there are police from several different counties and cities assisting with the escort. The funeral will be tomorrow at 12:00. There are more than 450 Patriot Guards who will line the streets from the funeral home to the cemetery where he will be laid. He is only the third veteran that has been laid to rest at his family plot instead of Arlington. They were inviting anyone else who wanted to come line the street to bring an American flag and come out. They’re going to give him the 21 gun salute and everything. I forget what county the gentleman was that they were talking to or where he will be laid. It seems like it’s Cobb County.
