That's funny........but sadly, why the change to digital only? Why can't we have both analog and digital? My cell phone has both ....and when digital doesn't pick up,it switches to analog and still works automatically. It all just seems a waste of time ,money and resources. It simply must be a "money " thing as analog has worked just fine for me forever.
The current analog TV part of the rf frequency spectrum is coveted for other uses, and is currently used very inefficiently. The government wants it back.
Even though I'm a techie I put off going digital until last spring (yep, I'm still on an antenna). I got the discount cards for 2 of my 3 sets and wala (I don't know how to spell the French version), I was digital.
I wished I would have done it sooner, the picture is great and I get more channels that I did before. I did have to replace my old antenna since it was falling apart from 13 years of ice and wind storms.
Just about everything RF is going digital due to efficiency of the RF spectrum. It won't be long before all cellulars are all digital too. Kind of like carburetors, they are dying out too.
Luckily, my grandmother is quite tech savvy - she's on facebook, and she blogs and writes a column for some senior citizen website. I'm pretty sure she'll be able to figure it out. But I have a feeling that scenes similar to this video will be playing out all over rural America next year...
they need the RF bandwith to listen in on the paranoid, slackers, crackers, hackers, black helicopter consipiracy hawkers and errand cat ladies. http://www.mcphee.com/items/11377.html
