190MPH? Where do they come up with these numbers? I met a gal the other night who set a speed record for a naked bike at 146 (I think it was). So has somebody gone 190 on this bike? I saw an ad for a bike that claimed to do 160+ do they back those numbers up?

That was a record for motor size/configuration and naked.
Sept 10—About 15 OMC members, AKA Team Tracy, went to the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials at the Bonneville Salt Flats to support Tracy Snyder, who was competing for a land speed record. On the last day of the meet, she set a new record in the Modified Gasoline “M-AG” 1350 Class of 171.153 MPH. The previous record in this class was set in 1978 by J. F. Haider at 165.742 MPH. Congratulations. More to come!
Confederate's old facility was in New Orleans so yes, they were affected by Katrina. They have a new facility but I forget where (not near the water anymore... that's for sure!).
They relocated to birmingham,AL right after katrina. At the BUB bonneville trials this year they set a record for the pushrod 2000 cc unfaired class(A-PF) of 166 mph. the previous record was 144 mph. that was on the "wraith" model i beleive. So yes they can back up some of their speed claims
Thanks Tom-b. Just always wonder when the ads (not just theres) says it's a 220 mph bike if it really goes or has gone that fast, or If it just goes that fast on paper..
i can't remember the specifics for sure, but a buell rider (Tim Horton) holds a 200 mph plus record on a buell with a fairing and 167 mph on a naked buell I just remember more about the confederate because I'm a HUGE fan of their bikes. Wish i could afford one.
