The local dealer keeps calling with a very good price on a 08 1125R

The wife has for the most part been "NO WAY".....

I stopped (with wife in hand) this afternoon to take a look. As we walked in I made a detour for the head....
When I came out she was standing next to it going "Is this it?" "I like it"
"That blue isn't that bad" "I thought you said it was BLUE"
Then when I told her the latest price

Now the wife wants me to get one.....

Damn CARROT!!

Mark I have a plan for you. Since the wife says she'd like it if you'd quit street riding and just race, tell her you'll buy the 25r and sell your Uly. Then after several months of no one buying the Uly due to the economy, time of year (and poor marketing on your part ). Time will pass and eventually you'll get to the "I might as well keep the Uly" point and you'll have a win-win on your hands.

Or you could just go with the "'tis easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission" theory and just buy the damn thing.

Sounds like you should be writing a check instead of posting here.

2009 will be a better year.

Look on the XB board - same thing. First year for DDFI-III was a bomb - but at least it looks like they now have it sorted out. Only took a year.

Since you'd be buying brand new with the new reflash and plan on making a race bike out of it I say take the deal on the 08.

My wife had griped every time I bought a bike without her blessing. She found out that I had been looking at one last year and when she asked me about it I told her "I told that guy that I wouldn't buy another bike without my wife's permission". It must have worked because a couple of days later she asked me about it again, with interest, instead of "No, you are not going to buy another bike"! She then told me to go get it if I really wanted it.
