I gave gallons (honestly) with an angels charter who was (and still is) the single largest group donor to the Stanford blood bank.
Unfortunately, I had to stop donating about 6 years ago, due to a combination of infections (lyme, Bartonella, etc.)...so I now donate my hair to kids with cancer.

Give blood- It's healthy for you, and it saves lives- do your homework on the company with whom you donate- some (NY Blood Center, etc.) sell units at a high profit to regional hospitals, while selling out of the area for a wider margin.

Give blood frequently.

chicks dig guys who donate blood.

don't try to donate if you have anal sex with African IV drug users, though...

Liberty hosts 4-5 blood drives a year. So far, we've collected over 90 pints this year. So if you need an excuse, or want to donate in a cool, awesome environment (well, technically it's a bus parked in the lot of a cool, awesome environment) then you should stop by - our next one is in October.

I think, especially in our chosen hobby/sport, that donating blood is especially important. I'm with BuellRider up there - thanks to everyone who chooses to give.

I did so recently and will be good to give again next month.

It's great to know that due to having large veins I will bleed out with a quickness if I lose a limb.

I give as often as I can. Up to about 6 liters. Excuse me, not sure where that puts me in gallons..........never did comprehend that whole metric thang. LOL

It's damn good for you to donate, as well.

Think of an oil change, and getting rid of some toxins, and then your body replacing it with fresh new blood that would otherwise not have been produced....

I wanted to donate blood but my Dr. has cautioned me because of my low blood pressure.

So instead I changed my will to specify that I go to science*

* Funny thing is I talked to my lawyer and I have a clause that my estate can't sell me for less than $3000. Even in death I will negotiate a better deal

I've made the 8 gallon mark so far. It's a cheap and easy way to help a lot of people when they need it the most.

Next week I'll hit the 8 gallon mark.
A very special thanks to all of those who donate.
Weather you know it or not, It's probably save the life of someone you know.
