It does sound like they might be a little fussier about one piece suits. Last year they said 50% zip, but didn't enforce it. It sounded like there may be more enforcement this year, which gives me a problem I have to solve :/

I understand how it helps, but I will have a good armored jacket with a belt that cinches down about where the pants cinch down, good armored pants, full tight fitting spine protector, and over the calf boots. Seems enough for the novice class...

Copied from sport bike track time's website. I haven't a clue how strict they are though.

Rider Gear Requirements (No, shorts and flip flops won't cut it....)
1) Damage free BSI, DOT or SNELL full-face helmet with face shield.
2) Riding boots that fully cover the ankle.
3) Gauntlet style gloves with full wrist coverage.
4) One or two piece leathers. Two piece leather suits must zip together for Novice, Intermediate or Advanced groups. Ballistic nylon suits such as Joe Rocket, AeroStitch etc. are acceptable in the Novice and Intermediate Group only provided they are either one piece or two piece that zip together with 50% zipper contact, reinforced and padded shoulders, elbows, hips, and knee areas. No chaps.

The group running this years event is Sport Bike Track Time (STT). They run a great event and not to worry about the paperwork......they'll be plenty of paper work there at the track if you don't receive it by mail. You can email Bonnie at bonnie@sportbiketracktime.com she'll take care of your questions.

I usually run 2-3 track days a year with STT, but this will be the first one for me this year.

I'd think they would again but if I remember right they went pretty quickly. Iron Pony has/had some Teknic leather pants on sale for 70 bucks that had a full circumference zip(both sides). I took those in to a seamstress and had her sew the top zip peice to my jacket-might be worth a shot. IP also had leather jackets on sale for cheap(~120) too. Granted its bit to pay but ifnyer looking for a new jacket or whole suite you could drop 200 and be done with it.

Thats a good price for the pants.

I guess I will just go about finding somebody to add a zipper to my current first gear cordura setup. Both the jacket and pants (both first gear) came with zippers, but they were different generations and so don't match, and they are probably more like 30% then 50%.

And I gotta get tires also... my syncs are toast.

Are you sticking with a 170 rear? Or going back to a 180? I have been tempted to try a sync in a 170 for the 9SX... I think they make them in that size.

I have a bit of work to do, but I'm still waiting on the Z6's to die. Sometime this month I'm mounting up a pr. of Pirelli diablo that I got for 180 bucks. They are stock dimensions(180 rear). While I'm doing that I need to slap in a new pr. of pads as well as new fluid. I was hoping to get that 8 pot ZTL but at 600 bucks it'll have to wait.
The 170's for the rear seem to be perfect but I got the 180/120 set for such a nice price(thanks wolfie) that I couldn't pass it up. I still want to try the syncs but those damn Z6's have about 8,000 miles on them and probably have 2,000 left-but I don't think they'll let me on the track with em.
FYI-It cost me 30 bucks to get a seamstress to put a zipper in-but it was only one side.

I just finished up prepping for safety wire on the SV. I just have to wait and put on my new wave rotors, pads and Motul fluid. I also need a new set of tires. But that's for another day.

Is it September 3rd yet?

Wow, that many miles out of a Z6 huh? Maybe I will try a set of them again... I liked them on the M2. I'll see which I can score cheaper. Either would be a good tire for the 9sx it seems to me...

I couldn't find any of the sync's in 170...

I'll probably do the 170's for street use in the Z6. Man the shopping list is growing, now I'm thinking I need a set of wheels so I can avoid tire to rim changes...: )

I put the z6's on at about 6,000 miles on the bolt, to which I put about 2000 on them while the served time with the tuber. I probably wouldn't even worry about them except for the fact that they are going to the track...I really like them but they are starting to get slippery. I am running them about 35-38psi which may have something to do with it...
