I have Progressive.

The value of the bike and whether it's financed or not play a big part with them.

The first year (when my bike was brand spanking new and financed) was steep at about $1,300 for full coverage on the Buell and just liability on a non running 97 Kawi Zephyr 750.
I was 35 at the time with a spotless record and I do not have the uninsured motorists coverage.

The second year it dropped to just under $700

Before this third year started I was able to pay the bike off. My premium is now $308 for full coverage on the Buell and liability on the Kawi.
If I dropped collision it would be about $162.

The funny thing is that I have to keep the non running Kawi insured for the multiple bike discount.
Without that I would be paying $100 more than if I didn't have the Kawi insured with them.

Go figure

I'll try to make this long story short...but, when I bought my M-2 in 1999, I went with Progressive for the first time. I had the bike less than one month when I made the unfortunate decision to let someone else ride it. Of course, he crashed my new bike but PROMISED TO PAY FOR ALL THE DAMAGES so no police report, no call to Progressive.....and two months later....no money from him.

I knew that Progressive would laugh at me but I decided to give them a call. This was on a Friday afternoon. I gave them all the gory details over the phone and was transferred to a local agent. They apologized for not being able to have an adjuster meet me that day but asked if Monday would be okay. I met the adjuster at the appointed time and minutes later I had a check in my hand....just like on t.v.

I was blown away! I did everything wrong (by not reporting it when it happened) but they paid with no hassles.

I was a believer and when I got my RC-51, it was my intention to stay with them. When I called and told them I wanted to add the Honda, I gave them the model number and displacement and they quoted me for full coverage for around $450 a year. Again, I was pleased.......but....about an hour later they called back.

They asked...."What kind of bike is this?" My reply was, "It's a sportbike." OOOHHH!!! That's an entirely different conversation! The price was going to be $1200-1500 (as best I can remember).

I had my Ecstasy Trike insured with Bikeline and they added the RC for a much more reasonable amount.

I kept that same arrangement till last year when I decided to give Geico a try. They wound up insuring the trike, the M-2 and the RC for about the same amount I was paying for the trike alone. So far, I am very pleased with Geico. I had flat tire on the trike last year (250 miles from home) and a call to their Roadside Assistance department went well.

I have Progressive for both my Uly and Harley. Great price, but I have never had to make a claim.

I had Progressive for 4 years on my FXDX. Never had a claim. Decided I'd price compare. Allstate was less than half the cost of Progressive so I switched. I am now in the midst of my first claim less than a year into the policy. We'll see how it goes.
