Generic question: Let's say you were going to meet up with some relatives and wanted to find someplace in the middle to meet and spend a few vacation days, and your two choices were Memphis or Tulsa, which would you choose and why? Memphis has some music history, and some notariety in other areas. Tulsa has some museums, a jazz museum, an aircraft museum, and probably some other stuff. Beyond that I've got nothing. Help please. And I'll be either dragging a trailer one-way or round trip, so probability of theft is a good statistic to keep in mind as well. Thanks. Speak freely. and feel free to make this Buell related. Speaking of which, there is nobody on the RAN/BRAN page listed for Tulsa or Memphis. Not sure if that's in indicator of anything or not though. |

I think the drive through northern Tennessee is simply gorgeous. Reminds me alot of nothern Wisconsin. I'd vote for Tenn. |

Memphis is a great city, going to the Rendezvous for BBQ is a MUST!! Tunica, MS is a short 30 miles run south to the Casinos for some gambling. I go to Tunica every year for a boys weekend gambling trip and will be there in ~3 weeks. |

The rumors of crime around Memphis caused me a little concern, otherwise I was leaning in that direction. Will have to google up the Rendezvous. Maybe we'll round trip our way home and hit Nashville if we don't do Tulsa instead. Only one I've been to is the Memphis airport for a short plane change. |

Check out Memphis. Study up on it to build an itinerary, then enjoy! My sister lives in Little Rock AR- believe it or not, downtown LR is as cool as any other city I've visited. They've got a seafood joint that'll blow you away, and a GREAT farmer's market twice a week. If you like, even the Clinton library, which looks like a doublewide with one end hanging over the river. I grew up in Nashville- very highly recommended as well. The Nashville Scene online will be a good source of info. Keep in mind that I-40 thru Knoxville is closed and traffic diverted thru a bypass via I-640. Wow- guess I got traveling on my mind.... |

I'd vote Memphis over Tulsa. You bringing the bike? |

Nope, no bike, picking up some parts for a long term project. Probably be around there close to Homecoming week though so I should see some people heading back this way to Milwaukee on our return trip. (this reminds me, I've got to cross reference the car to u-haul to see if I can use their trailer or need to use my own little one) |
