It was 33 and I was so cold I stopped and bought a new leather jacket From a place in Hudson Ohio. Only did about 50 miles and found the deep sand/salt piles the state boys had dumped on the roads. Front end tried to wash out and I was only doing about 30.

Of course I ride for an hour and now have three of cleaning up to do. Any idea HOW fast road salt will eat up a bike?

BUT it was so nice to get out on the road...only 2-3 more month of this mess and SPRING'll be here!

The NEBO guys just did a ride this past Thursday night...I did about 150-170 miles...I got home at 10:30 and checked the temperature...28 degrees F, that explained the numb legs and fingers.

Yea BUT my fan only ran a few seconds when I got in!

I won't ride unless it is above freezing and has been at least 24 hours. Black Ice will mess your WHOLE day up.

I just got back from a 300 mile ride, and man it was good! I need a mesh jacket I bet it'll be a lot cooler with one of them.
Now my helmet smells like sweat funk.

Re road salt: there is a product that the Bonneville racers use to neutralize the destructive effects of salt on aluminum. Just spray it on while washing the vehicle at the end of the day, I believe is all one has to do.

I can't seem to remember what it is called though. FiremanJim knows what this is, as would Choptop, Eeeeek or Aaron Wilson, who all raced on the salt.

1 full tank of gas 18 miles on hard pack snow, HTFU ; Wind testing and WET weather riding every damn chance I get. It might not have been over 35 f, but mud sluggin and snow ridden turned out to be a warming work out.
