All this talk of injectors on the adjacent thread started me thinking about my injectors.
I am closing in on 80,000 miles.

Anyone think it would make a difference?
Snakeoil?

I use Techron in both cars, and unlike similar products, it does seem to make a difference. Can't tell you how it will do in your X1, as my bikes have carbs!

try it, the worst that could happen is you spend $5-10 and nothing could happen, either way you are probably going to get a little gunk out of them

Techron is reputed to be very good at preventing deposit formation in the top end.

Seafoam or Berryman's B-12 is reputed to be good for gummy fuel related problems.

My grandfather had a saying that loosely translated as "You can throw pig s#!t at a problem, and it probably won't make the problem worse."

I dumped a little Gumout in my tank on my 550 mile trip last month. Can't really tell that it made any difference but like the others have said, it couldn't have hurt if it cleaned out anything at all.

Cheap insurance against a buildup or gumming. I run it every now and again in all I own.

I used injector additives occaisionally and it looks like I still had a problem. My daughter's car started turning on the 'check engine' light and the code indicated misfires. Both times it happend injector cleaner fixed it.
I'm pretty sure that the injector on my S3was stuck or plugged. When I first tried to clean it it would pass spray, after backflushing it did but then acted up again.

"Chevron Techron" is mentioned by brand name in several German auto manufacturers tech manuals.
For anything not made in Germany to be mentioned by brand name, means it works and is the best product available, anywhere.
Need I say more?

Injector cleaners work well as a "maintenance cleaner", they won't fix an existing plugged injector problem.

I put Techron (or other name brand) at each oil change for all my vehicles. Seems to make a difference.

I saw something on the net that Techron was one of the only products that were independently documented and proven to remove deposits from intake valves and injectors.

FWIW, I've never had a single injector failure across any of my vehicles (150,000 miles; 140,000 miles; 35,000 miles). But I'm sure there's others that have similar results who never have used injector cleaners...

Aldaytona is right, when I lived in Phoenix the Chevron gas stations all had techron in the gas. We talked about this one night with a couple Harley MMI instructors.

LOL Both told us that the stuff is the best thing you can do for a combustion engine!!!!! One went on to say how he would take motors apart that had been using the Chevron gas and find everything inside VERY CLEAN. EVEN THE EXH. PIPES!! I have seen it for myself too!! The stuff rocks. There should be a government mandate that Techron be included in all gasoline......but I cant stand the EPA so ill stop talking about that.

Get some techron!!!!!

If the only thing it did was get the moisture out of your tank and system, it would be worth it.....Charlie
