Is there any better way to clear trouble codes than starting the bike 50 times with 30 seconds idle time between starts?

Will the codes clear with a jumper in the 1-2 pin of the diagnostic circuit?

I get a CEL about 2 min after riding the bike, only at speed (not idle) so I went to check the codes, and the CEL blinks with just about every single code.

I am primarily talking about clearing the code history.

Thanks...

Colin,
You need software to clear the codes the easy way, otherwise your stuck with the long procedure.

My X1 gives me a CEL at start time, its a low voltage indicator, I get it for the coil, injectors... and anything else that can throw a low volt code. I've checked the electrical system nothing wrong, battery is a couple years old, but starts the bike even on 30 degree days so who knows?

The Techno research software is worth the cost, it clears up all the questions and makes the FI simpler than a carb.

You can also look for the ECM spy program from a European board for something more attractively priced (free), but its much more of a hackers program. Do a KV search, you'll find it
