I still wonder is there can be two 49 state, 1995 S2s that both end with (say) 035. 1B9R...035 and 4MZF...035.
How far did the 1B9R numbers run before they ran out and began the 4MZF series?

Mine is Snap Red, if the custodian of the list would like to include that for number 1B9R....258.

I think it would be interesting if everyone added the first four digits as well.

I might as well get on the list:

1995 Ice White Pearl, last 4 digits 1397

Update: I do not have the Signature Series materials for my bike

Not to be picky, but according to the 1995 S2-Thunderbolt sales brochure, it's Red Snap, not Snap Red.

COLORS
Yellow Jacket Pearl
Ice White Pearl
Caribbean Candy Blue
Black Sapphire Pearl
Red Snap

Will get you three added as well.

Does Bart know what he started?

Am I correct in assuming that this spreadsheet is only for people that have the "Signature Series" documentation? How about a registry that would include all S2's? Or is this it? I'm a little confused about the correlation between the cover number and the VIN. All I have is a VIN and probably will never have the "Signature Series" documentation, as I know for a fact that the original (previous) owner never obtained it from Buell. I have talked to an "insider" at Buell about obtaining this "Signature Series" material and it sounds like there is virtually no chance of that happening.

Schwarz,
The chart is for both those who have the stuff and those looking for the stuff.

Number/\Year/\Model/\State/\Color/\Name/\Status/\C omments

197/\1995/\S2/\ (49 state)/\Pearl Ice White/\MikeJ/\looking

I've got no idea what SigSeries number I should be seeking any more. I'm now in the category of "it'd be nice to have but isn't really a big deal since my bike is a rider vs show bike".

I guess I should be added, but I'm not 100% sure what the plate number would be.
VIN ends in 0049

49?/1996/S2-T/49state/Quick Silver (now Black Sapphire)/Not Purple S2/ looking

It's not finished yet...
This has been a work in progress for about 5 years now. It died down for about a year or so, and then picked back up.
I Love the S2's, own a couple, and like to keep the interest in them alive.
Kristi, bless her heart, is more adept at this excel stuff than I am, and certainly has more time to get all the info into the spreadsheet.
I spend alot of time on the road nowadays, both for work, and play...

Bart - hope you didn't take that as a dig, it certainly wasn't meant to be. I track a lot of stuff for my Shelby Dodge club as well, I know what it's like. The SD's, though, were built from 86-89. 86 was one model. 87 was three. 88 was one. 89 was two. 500 of some; 1000 of others; 800 of some; ad nauseum. And of course, Carroll made no effort to align VINs with CS numbers either, LOL.

If I can do anything to lend a hand, just let me know. I only recently bought my S2, but now I see what all the hype is about. I love that bike; it easily eclipses my S1W for overall appeal. The S1W is awesome for blunt force speed...but the S2 is just...nice to ride fast. Or slow. It doesn't care, it just likes to be out there running around.

The plate translates thusly:

96
S2
49 (49 state model, not California)
4/200 is #4 of 200 built.
